"Chuckle worthy"
If you like Chelsea from TV, you will like the book. Many times I laughed out loud and other times I was thinking "I can't believe she said that!" (but she did). A good listen if you need something humorus for a change.
"finally! something different!"
Author Sandra Brown is an excellent, excellent writer! This is about the lives of two young authors who are friends and college buddys and thier difficult struggles becoming writers. The story is very captivating, entriguing and most certainly a thriller. I enjoyed the excellent job the reader Victor Slezak did. This is a book for adults since there is some very descriptive sexual scenes. I recommend this to readers who would like a change from the same ol' "who done it" style writing.
"well written"
I enjoyed the way the author Adrian McKinty described the characters and the landscapes. He used humor where it was very welcome, yet there are some descriptions that are very graphic, but needed to portray the scene and people involved. I liked the story. Gerard Doyle, the reader, did an exceptionally good job with various accents. I recommend this book to those who like thriller/mysteries.
"Intriguing and captivating!"
author Kathleen Grissom wrote an exceptionally intriguing story! She describes events, people, and places with great detail and takes you back into that era very easily! The readers were absolutely the best! I highly recommend this book! The story revolves around a main character (Lavinia) who is an orphaned Iris girl growing up in a kitchen house with slaves on a tobacco plantation. Her interaction with so many different people in her life time makes the story very captivating and interesting!! I liked the ending also. Well rounded listen. You won't be disappointed! I hope it's made into movie or mini series!
"British Humor at it's finest!"
The story had hilairous quips, innuendos and fantastic wit. The reader is most excellent!
If you like whimsical mysteries...you will enjoy this one. Well done.
"Could be a TV movie"
A quaint pleasurable book with a nice story line, light enjoyable read. Reader mispronounced a few words, but in all a good story.
"disappointing!"
The author started out writing the main character (Mirana) as this inteligent doctor then turns her into a ditz! She wasn't very observant, missed common sense things that a 12 year old would pick up on... especially if you are deep in the Amazon. Your senses should be heightened when you don't have modern distractions. She misses obvious things that could save people a lot of discomfort, especially herself. It's like all the characters in this book have no knack for planning ahead when if comes to getting supplies or hanging onto important items that are very crucial when you are deep in the jungle. If the author purposly wrote Mirana as a pushover and sort of an idiot, I didn't care for it. I also didn't like the ending, it left you hanging like there may be a sequel...( I hope not).
"Good listen!"
Story line was great, characters were good! Reader did well. Like the way it ended.
"Great skull duggary novel"
It was very captivating, had some well placed humor, had interesting historical facts and I enjoyed the characters and the reader. Clive Cussler doesn't dissapoint!
"captivating"
Enjoyed the thrill, the captivation and the continued story from the Lion's Game! Even if you didn't read the Lion's Game, a person would enjoy it since he recaptures some of the events! Great book, I wish it didn't end.
"Captivating,humorous,educational"
Captivating story. I totally enjoy the character John Corey. Scott Brick is an awesome reader
