I just finished listening to the book and I could not stop listening to it. The narrative was compelling and I walked away feeling as if I had learned a great deal about the assassination and the assassin. I am not a Hsitory of Civil War person, but this piqued my interest. Though many questions were answered, new ones about the time period were raised for me. I definitely want to read more about this time period. Though the narrators voice was a bit quirky, the book was terrific.

Though not a big fan of his radio show, (I listen less than once every couple of months), this story of his journey thus far was endlessly fasinating. For the political junkie like me, to hear his impressions of the many people who crossed his path earlier in life was surprising. People you would expect him to savage, he had nothing but nice things to say. The twists and turns of his life and the lessons he offers from them I found both compelling and touching.

I have loved Benjamin Franklin since I was a young child. But as a young hispanic boy growing up in the barrio, I never understood the connection. This book explained to the adult me why Franklin's life and contributions were so instrumental to the country's founding, as well as why I had such an immediate connection to his life. The wit and wisdom of Benjamin Frankling has always resonnated with me and now I understand why.
