    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 9 mins)
    • By Rhys Bowen
    • Narrated By Katherine Kellgren

Georgie, aka Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, cousin of King George V of England, is penniless and trying to survive on her own as an ordinary person in London in 1932. So far she has managed to light a fire and boil an egg... She's gate-crashed a wedding... She's making money by secretly cleaning houses... And she's been asked to spy for Her Majesty the Queen.

Alice says: "Happy addition to a difficult genre"
    "Pleasantly Surprised"

I liked this book. Light, funny, likable characters...I'm going to get the other in the series next!

  • Innocent Traitor: A Novel of Lady Jane Grey

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Alison Weir
    • Narrated By Stina Nielsen, Davina Porter, Bianca Amato
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The child of a scheming father and ruthless mother, Lady Jane Grey is born during a time when ambition dictates action. Cousin to Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I, she is merely a pawn in a political and religious game in which one false step means a certain demise. But Lady Jane has remarkable qualities that help her to withstand the constant pressures of the royal machinery far better than most expect.

    Jt says: "Superior listen!"
    "Too Tedious"

I must not be intellectual enough. I couldn't get past the first few hours of this book.

  • Happy Ever After: The Bride Quartet, Book 4

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 3 mins)
    • By Nora Roberts
    • Narrated By Angela Dawe
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

No man has rattled wedding-planner Parker Brown in a long time, but the motorcycle-riding, raven-haired Mal seems to have a knack for it. His passionate kisses always catch her off guard, much like her growing feelings for him. Parker’s business risks have always paid off, but now she’ll have to take the chance of a lifetime with her heart….

    Amy says: "Wonderful ending!"
    "Loved it!"

Thank goodness they went with Angela Dawe to narrate these last three books! I actually listed to these out of order going 3, 4, 2, 1. If I'd listed to #1 first, I'd never have bothered with the rest of the series. These four Bride Quartet books are classic Nora Roberts in my opinion. Not as good as Blue Smoke or Northern Lights, but still good.

  • Maybe This Time

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 58 mins)
    • By Jennifer Crusie
    • Narrated By Angela Dawe
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When Andie tries to gain closure with her ex-husband, he asks one final favor of her. A distant cousin has died and left North the guardian of two orphans. When Andie meets the two children, she realizes the situation is much worse than she feared. Carter and Alice aren’t your average delinquents, and the creepy old house where they live is being run by the worst housekeeper since Mrs. Danvers. Complicating matters is Andie’s fiancé’s suspicion that this is all a plan by North to get Andie back.

    Jessica says: "Loved This Book"
    "Pretty Good"

For die hard fans of Jennifer Crusie, you'll appreciate this book. It's got her typical quirky dialogue, slightly off center female heroine, and kooky cast of extras. It's not as good as Bet Me, but not a bad listen.

  • Lead Me On

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Victoria Dahl
    • Narrated By Savannah Richards
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

After a rough childhood with a mother who liked her men in prison-jumpsuit orange, Jane changed her name, her look and her taste for bad boys. So why is she lusting for William Chase with his tattoo-covered biceps and steel-toed boots? The man blows things up for a living!

    Geri-Ann says: "Trite and Predicable"

Ummm...what to say? Smutty and not much of a plot. I kept saying in my head "this girl really needs to go to counseling."

  • Soulless: An Alexia Tarabotti Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 52 mins)
    • By Gail Carriger
    • Narrated By Emily Gray
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Victorian romance mixes seamlessly with elegant prose and biting wit—and werewolves—in Gail Carriger’s delightful debut novel. Soulless introduces Alexia Tarabotti, a parasol-wielding Londoner getting dangerously close to spinster status. But there are more important things than finding a husband. For Alexia was born without a soul, giving her the ability to render any vampire or werewolf completely powerless.

Pamela I Greene says: "Amelia Peabody has competition"
    "Not my usual"

Although this is not the type of book I usually get, I loved this! Hilarious characters, fabulous narrator, quirky, fun and totally worth my time. I've had to purchase the actual books (gasp!) to keep going with the series. Hopefully Audible will add "Changeless" soon!

  • Christmas Letters

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Debbie Macomber
    • Narrated By Renée Raudman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Celebrate Christmas on Blossom Street with a brand-new romantic comedy from New York Times best-selling author Debbie Macomber. Katherine O'Connor often spends her days at a cozy cafe on Blossom Street in Seattle – where she writes Christmas letters for other people. She's good at making their everyday lives sound more interesting. More humorous. More dramatic. But for Dr. Wynn Jeffries, who also frequents the cafe, Christmas means lies and deception

    shirlfish says: ""Christmas Letters""

Oh my gosh, this book was terrible. The story was painful and the narrator sounded like she was reading to a group of small, very dull children. Don't waste your time or credit!

  • A Fine Passion

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Stephanie Laurens
    • Narrated By Jill Tanner

Set in Regency England, Stephanie Laurens' New York Times best-selling Bastion Club series evokes a bygone era where romantic entanglements rule the day - and inflamed desires rule the night. In A Fine Passion, Jack, Baron Warnefleet, narrowly avoids marriage when he flees London for the refuge of his estate. But there waits Lady Clarice Altwood, whose beauty is impossible to ignore.

    Allison says: "Not her best"
    "Not her best"

Definitively not Stephanie Laurens' best. Skip it.

  • From a Distance

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 30 mins)
    • By Tamera Alexander
    • Narrated By Robin Miles

In RITA Award winner Tamera Alexander's historical romance, Elizabeth travels to 1875 Colorado to take pictures she hopes will make her the D.C. Chronicle's new photojournalist. But when her life is threatened, a buckskin-clad Southerner named Daniel takes Elizabeth and her godly assistant on a perilous and revealing journey.

Carrie Fancett Pagels says: "The title is such a great metaphor for this book!"
    "Not what I thought"

Slow moving, VERY slow. Didn't like the narrator. I don't think I'm going to bother finishing this book.

  • Night Train to Memphis: The Fifth Vicky Bliss Mystery

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Elizabeth Peters
    • Narrated By Barbara Rosenblat

While on an all-expenses-paid cruise down the Nile, Vicky takes on a new case involving a plot to rob the Egyptian museum. With Sir John Smythe, reformed jewel thief and Vicky's lover, the prime suspect, she prepares for shipboard romance and a dash of intrigue.

Judith says: "Vicky's Egypt trip is fun for Amelia fans"

I thought this book was great! I'm new to Vicky Bliss mysteries and this is the first one I've listened to. Barbara Rosenblat's narrating was fabulous!! That would be worth it all on it's own, but the mystery was fun and quirky and I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
