The X-rated monologues coming from next door are keeping Rafe Moore up at night: and all he really wants is some sleep. How's he supposed to decompress from his EMT job when his sultry neighbor and her explicit fantasies have his blood pressure spiking?

Angelia says: "Charming love story with some heat"
    "Cute Story"
    Overall

Not literature... not fantastic, but not bad.. a hair right of middle... yet a cute enough story to pass the time and great to multi-task to; which is exactly what I needed. I genuinely liked the story but cannot give it 4 or more stars only because it simply is a formula even if a good one.

After Andrea Wolkowicz abandons corporate life to help care for her sister, she quickly wears out the want ads in their rust-belt hometown. Time to be her own boss. Every mogul knows the best idea is an old idea with a new twist. So Andi proudly revives her father’s business: an old-fashioned car wash...staffed entirely by bikini-clad women. That ought to get traffic—and blood—flowing on Grosvenor Street!

Grace says: "Fantastic Fluff... delightful and refreshing"
"Great Narrator; Great Story; Elegant Insights"
    Overall

I always have liked listening to Gabra Zackmans voice. Pamela Morsi wrote her character insights elegantly and it had a nice touch compared to other formulaic romance... this one steps into new social awareness with grace.

Surprising really given the title... it was fresh.

Overjoyed at Maryanne’s engagement, amateur sleuth Sophie Katz can’t wait for the wedding vows and party toasts to begin. But then Dena—best friend, bridesmaid and all-around vixen—is mysteriously shot just after the announcement. Leave this to the authorities? No way. Dena may never walk again, and Sophie vows to marry her fists with the shooter’s face.

    G. House Sr. says: "A Must Read!"
"The story continues and if you love Kyra"
    Overall

... then you will love this one as well. It is as if so many things get tied together. Will the story go on? or is this the last of the series? Kyra and Gabra as so good together as author and reader... they could write a book together, perhaps.

  • U Is for Undertow: A Kinsey Millhone Mystery

It's April, 1988, a month before Kinsey Millhone's 38th birthday, and she's alone in her office doing paperwork when a young man arrives unannounced. He has a preppy air about him and looks as if he'd be carded if he tried to buy booze, but Michael Sutton is 27, an unemployed college dropout. Twenty-one years earlier, a four-year-old girl disappeared, and a recent reference to her kidnapping has triggered a flood of memories.

BSquared67 says: "A brilliant departure from the familiar"
"Great Writing; Good Narrator; But not compelling"
    Overall

I was surprised that for some depressing reason it did not compel me to continue to listen. It is intelligent, well written, good reader; still however, the tone itself along with the writing was bringing me to feel feel depressed too much and so the Undertow did not grab me! I got out of the water to other waters until who knows when?

New York book editor Maris Matherly-Reed knows a best seller when she sees one - even if it is just a tantalizing partial manuscript submitted by a writer identified only as P.M.E., with the return address of an obscure island off the Georgia coast. Maris is intrigued enough to search for him.

    DMHVetSurveyor says: "Envy"
    "Fantastic"
    Overall

Fun Romp of a book that has insight into the real meaning of Envy. Engaging. Smart. Well Written. Well spoken and read.

One by one, children of New York's wealthiest are taken hostage. But the criminal doesn't crave money or power--he only wants to ask the elite if they know the price others pay for their luxurious lifestyles. And, if they don't, he corrects their ignorance - by killing them.

    Lawrence says: "Loved it!"
"Worth it, great production, insight into terror"
    Overall

visits the dark side of our countries downfall of the elite entitled class in how they are unaware of their own shadow and how obsession is "conjured" up in what seems to be in "intelligent" people... surely intelligent and whole are different things. In the end I saw into how "psyche" and "soul" are simply never violent and yield to violence... yet terror and terrorism comes from "intelligence" believing it's own sound lies to tragic ends. Fantastic work by author and readers. Thank you! The protagonists are realistic. The antagonist captures the "why" we are seeing terror these days. Maybe the insight will enlighten many and further enlighten me in my next re-listening.

Kitty Norville is a midnight-shift DJ for a Denver radio station---and a werewolf in the closet. Sick of lame song requests, she accidentally starts "The Midnight Hour," a late-night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged. After desperate vampires, werewolves, and witches across the country begin calling in to share their woes, her new show is a raging success.

    S. Droski says: "Pleasant Surprise!"
    "Great narrator, almost literature"
    Overall

Almost Chick Lit. Has sociological study value. The narrator is perfect for this reading. I think one of the better values available in audible.

After getting caught turning wolf on national television, Kitty retreats to a mountain cabin to recover and write her memoirs. But this is Kitty, so trouble is never far behind, and instead of Walden Pond, she gets Evil Dead.

Helen says: "A great escape...Kitty takes a holiday!"
"Better written books with great narrator"
    Overall

As a whole, steps above most of what we find as far as quality of writing, use of language and writing skills and execution of the story by the narrator. Enjoyed it more than most audiobooks. Has something for the intellect on the conveyance of emotional positioning as far as understanding what it is to be alpha or not. Has sociological study value.

  • I've Been a Naughty Nurse: Vital Signs, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 28 mins)
    • By Jamaica Layne
    • Narrated By Andrea Price
    Overall
    (36)

    (11)
    Story
    (12)

Joanna Watson, a recently divorced top surgical nurse in picturesque Statesville, North Carolina, is frustrated with her stalled career and dead-in-the-water sex life when she suddenly finds herself trapped in an elevator with an unknown, abrasive Yankee surgeon, Dr, Harlan Wilkinson. The elevator gets stuck, the lights go out, and spontaneous, hot-n-heavy sex commences.

    Melisa says: "Yuck."
    "Engaging Enough Erotica"
    Overall

If you like a context, nurses, a little contextual blood, a story line... it is not boring if you are bored with only sex talk. For what it is and for what you want out of it, it works. But if you just like straight and only sex talk, this is not for you. If you need depth and real literature, this is not for you.
If you need a believable plot and some character building around the sex, it is done in good naughty taste. The reader is fine if you find her fine in the sample.. except when she sounds the orgasms... those sounds could be better, the rest is fine.
