I liked the story, it was interesting, never boring. I like stories with other characters that have their own stories. This was most interesting in that it involved,the King. It also had a lot of history I was not familiar with.

I don't usually like a lot medieval stories. Too brutal.

She did an excellent narration. I like her and will listen to her again.

This mystery had quiet a twist and the ending took you by surprise, but just before the ending I sort of guessed it.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! DID NOT WANT IT TO END.

The narrator was excellent. I had loved "Fixer Upper" and listened to it 3 times. I will probably do the same for this.

It is definitely worth the credit.

Loved all the characters. It started off as a comedy of manners. All of the family was in a dither about this unknown cousin inheriting the Baronacy and the estate. Since his father had married a weaver's daughter, they were expecting a country bumpkin.

I liked his narration, but I couldn't understand the Major's groom.

This is a witty book and a romance almost as an afterthought. I listened to it straight through. Very few books are as entertaining and keep my attention so that I don't put it down.

No, it was too intense. Maybe, in a number of years, but I doubt it.

It moved right along, never boring. Although after listening for five hours straight one day, I had to watch a mindless "chick-flick" on TV.

No, although I listened to it in about 3 to 4 days because it was our book club selection in early January and I had listened to three Christmas books over the holidays and had to hurry and finish this book.

It was an unusual book and beautifully written. The narrator was fabulous! The audio kept referring to the title as "The Shifting Fog". I personally prefer the new title "The House At Riverton". I would never have looked at or bought "The Shifting Fog".

Heartwarming, forgiveness, family

Jasper, the little boy, He was adorable loving and reciting "The Night Before Christmas St. Nicholas" poem.

It was fine until he was speaking in the Earl's voice. Then it was too harsh.

It is a very nice English Christmas story. I enjoyed listening to it as I was preparing my house for Christmas. I had wanted some Christmas stories to listen to, although this can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

I certainly would. It kept my attention and did not drag in the middle. As a matter of fact I kept listening to it all weekend -- hard to put down.

No, I don't think so. She has a wonderful voice and was perfect. Loved listening to her narration.

This was a lovely story. It centered around two people who had experienced tragic experiences in their lives. They also came from different backgrounds. They were mature, not stupid, silly and clueless like so many characters in other books. Through love and caring they were able to work through their differences. Definitely worth a credit.
This book is better than some of hers.

First of all she is distant royalty to the throne, lives in a shabby, drafty, haunted castle with no money with her spineless brother and mean sister-in-law. Goes to London to get away from them, stays in the family home with no servants, doesn't know how to light a fire or cook. She does have Tea with the Queen who wants her to spy on Wallis Simpson at a house party in the country. Things start to go terribly wrong, murder, attempted murder on her and deceiving friends.

I liked her narration.

Yes. It was a funny, fun romp.

I am glad I took a chance on this. I look forward to getting the next book in the series.

Funny, fast moving, charming

No. She did a fine job, except the Count's accent.

I have read several of Christina Dodds historical romances, so being a little familiar with her books decided to take a chance on this one. As with the Regency books, this one has the Italian Count instead of a Duke, Earl etc. It is a modern fun, light hearted take on the same type of book. Sometimes this type fits the bill after serious books. I enjoyed it.

First of all I LIKE very much Anne Flosnik's narration. I really don't know what all the fuss and complaining is about with the other reviews. I have listened to her a lot on Amanda Quick and Mary Balogh novels on tape and CD

I thought this was a great book. It was written in 1991 which, in my opinion better written,
before the historical novels became too modern day. In other words they put 21st century
characters back two centuries and expect it to be believable.

I liked Lady Carolyn and Lord Bradford. Of course, being a Duke, he was arrogrant and controlling, but in the end she brought him around.

Good read.

Compelling, intriguing, heartwarming

I think she brings it to life. I recently read one of Milan's books and it was fine, but I liked this one better. Jasicki is one of my favorite narrators.

The plot centered among other things, on wife abuse and depression. Lady Kathleen tried to save abused women. Her husband who had bouts of depression tried to overcome it.
He needed to prove to himself and his wife that he could overcome it and be there for her when she was in danger. Their story is very heartwarming.
