An excellent narrative voice that is easy to listen to and genre appropriate.
This is not light historical reading. It is a masterful, scholarly work filled to the brim with details and research. If you have a voracious appetite for facts and historical anecdotes, this book is for you. Being an audio book, some of the names and places may confuse listeners not familiar with the history of medieval England and France, but it is nonetheless worthy of a listen and will indefinitely prompt the curious to do some research on one's own, outside of the book, in order to further enrich the experience.
Amazing attention to detail. Well-researched, tightly written work.
Clive Chafer reads with such clarity and fluency that one would be hard pressed to find a better reader for a historical work.
