I recently discovered the Robertsons on A&E. I love their story. I enjoy their family bond and their faith in God ... and they are FUNNY!
The book provides insight into their testimony and it's read by Willie and his wife. Willie won't be able to make a living as a narrator - LOL, but I like him reading his own story.
If you like the show, you will enjoy the book.
If you've never watched the show, get the book and you will want to watch the show.
It's all about love of God and love of family....
This story is very captivating. The newly released movie is nearly 100% true to the book. The only reason i didn't rate it 5 stars was because I would have preferred less foul language... but that is my personal preference. The story was really good. I recommend both the movie and the book.
I was really enjoying this story, it unfolded kind of slow but was interesting. The narrator is not real good but they did not mess up the story - so it was ok.
Toward the end I was really getting into the story and then the last 3 or so hours it became apparent that this book /story had evolved into a rant from an Anti- Death Penalty perspective. That was disappointing because it took away from my enjoyment.
Other than that, it was good, I would recommend
My son listened to this and he enjoyed it. He gave it 2 thumbs up.
This was my first Chevy Stevens novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Could not wait to hear what was going to happen next. Good story, good narration, recommend.
Enjoyed this book. It is a short adventure, quick listen, very entertaining.
If you are a fan of the series, I recommend this book.
Very interesting to hear some of the sermons from days gone by.
I love the Word of God and love to hear how God used His servants, so I found this very interesting!
I downloaded the first few chapters as a free preview.... I did not even get through chapter 1. This was not for me, the language was too strong and offensive.
For some, it may be enjoyable, but not for me.
I saw this movie many years ago, so when I saw the book it was a no-brainer to purchase. The book, as is normally the case, was so much more enjoyable than the movie. I was surprised at just how true to the book the movie was though.
The story itself will make you angry at times but shows the power of a child's love and trust toward a parent.
The narrator was good, I didn't like her imitation of the small child voice but other than that I found the narration to be good, the story entertaining and overall it was a good book.
I would recommend if you are looking for something different on a long drive.
I have a collection of the Peter Pan books that my son and I have listened to or read. We enjoy them. This one was very short. It was entertaining but compared to the others it was just ok. Good, but not Great.
Martin Luther has always fascinated me... His faith, his commitment, his tenacity - what an impact he had as he allowed God to use him. I love his story and thoroughly enjoyed this brief account of his encounter before the King when he was forced to recant his writings or face the consequences. I only pray that my conviction can be a portion of his...and as he said, I pray I can testify as well "My conscious is captive to the Word of God... Here I stand!"
