In Boogers Are My Beat, Dave gives us the real scoop on: The scientific search for the world's funniest joke; RV camping in the Wal-Mart parking lot; outwitting "smart" kitchen appliances and service contracts; elections in Florida ("You can't spell Florida without 'duh'"); the Olympics, where people from all over the world come together to accuse each other of cheating; and much, much more.

Would you listen to Boogers Are My Beat again? Why?

I would definitely listen to this audio book again. It is nice to be able to be amused by the short essays and not have to be concerned with a lengthy story line sometimes.

    Any additional comments?

Dave Barry is always good for a laugh but the two serious essays regarding 9/11 are reminders that he can be a very fine, thoughtful, and inciteful author.

Pyrrus is a world rich in animals, plant life, minerals — and death. Every insect sting is deadly, every thorn and blossom poisoned, every tooth and claw a mortal menace. Pyrrus’ human settlers are the fiercest of warriors, fighting ferociously against an entire planet, locked in an unending war that is growing steadily worse. It is a conflict that seems destined to have only one outcome: their annihilation.

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

I generally like Kafer. He did what he could with the material but he works better with lighter works.

Do you think Deathworld needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No

If you could sum up Confessions of a D-List Supervillain in three words, what would they be?

This made for a fast listen while driving around. It managed to keep me engaged enough to care about the main character. I'd recommend it.
