When a murder disrupts the Irish vacation she is taking with her husband, Roarke, Eve realizes that no place is safe - not an Irish wood or the streets of the manic city she calls home. But nothing prepares her for what she discovers upon her return to the cop shop in New York City....

MJ says: "Good story, great Eve/Roarke relationship"
    "excellent- just as expected"
    Overall

Ericksen does such a good job with the J B Robb books I sometime choose new authors just because she is the narrator. I'm a huge fan of J B Robb and Nora Roberts the Characters are so fun and real you can see them. The stories are always filled with adventure and never lost on opinions. these last books do spend a little time catching up anyone who hasn't been in one the series form the start so some repetition but still new people are added each time so it does't get to stale. I would recommend starting at the beginning but it's not necessary- if you don't read them all you just missed a lot of really good books.

Great Story Great narrator - I've read this book then bought it on tape and now have bought it again for my mp3 as I love the story. This is the first book in a really good series. Romance for sure but with some super personalities and very well written. One of the very best.

    Story

The story is very good the reading well done but there are several ( lot's and lot's of) places in the recording where lines were repeated, whole sentences at a time. Also the end of chapters turned the book off automatically, I kept having to restart the player. It was very distracting and took away some of the enjoyment of the book.

Still I will no doubt listen to it again and would recommend it to friends.

Good Story line and I will look for more books by this author.

Gwen may have left Louisiana a starry-eyed innocent, but now she's returned successful and accomplished. And with enough sense to deal with her mother's maddening boarder, Luke Powers. But once Gwen meets Luke--a man reputed to be an expert in both words and women--her composure disappears. Now she has stars in her eyes but isn't so innocent.

    L.W. says: "NR fan"
    "so NOT Nora'a normal standard"
    Overall

Never thought I would be disappointed in a Nora Roberts book but this is just not at all like any of hers ever read. I thought I'd read and or listened to them all but this must be her Earliest work and still a huge let down. Weak silly women and nothing to the main Male in the story. Just not good.

When a high-society party is crashed by a naked, knife-wielding, blood-covered man who "thinks" he might have killed someone, Eve Dallas must track down the crime, and the criminals. Everything points to Satanic ritual, but Eve doesn't believe in devil worship.

    Overall

I love this in death series and Susan Ericksen does them best She has the personalities down so well I wish I could meet the people, they seem so real- My husband was laughing at me because he saw me mowing the lawn, and smiling and laughing while listening through the ear phones. I wish Nora Roberts wrote faster, I'm always running out of books.

In a New York City fifty years in the future, Detective Eve Dallas tracks down those who break the law - including the ones sworn to uphold it. Eve Dallas and her partner, Peabody, are following up on a brutal, senseless crime - an elderly grocery owner killed by three stoned punks for nothing more than kicks and snacks. And for the first time, Peabody is primary detective on the case, which means she has to get used to a new level of authority and responsibility. Good thing she learned the ropes from a master like Eve. But after rounding up the perps, Peabody stumbles upon a much trickier situation.

the last in a series of 4 and very very good. The friends all have different personalities and you feel like you know them before the series is finished. The narrator does a great job and Nora Roberts tells a terrific story. Very worth the time.
