Pinned follows Ivan Korske and Bobby Zane, two high school seniors, as they embark on the most important winter of their lives in a quest for the New Jersey state high school wrestling championship.

    Martin says: "Well done!"
    "Great sports fiction !"
    Overall

Pinned is a book about the high school wrestling scene however the messages and situations presented in this book are those that are part of the lives of most student athletes, regardless of their sport. The story is well read and the novel itself is fast paced and becomes more complex as the story progresses. If you have played sport or enjoy sport you will likely be able to relate to the issues that arise for the students in this novel.

Would you consider the audio edition of Swan Song to be better than the print version?

Yes the voice actor was great !

What other book might you compare Swan Song to and why?

Its an end of the world story and a good vs evil story combined, so there are alot of those but this story was particularly good and had plenty of action. Probably similar to Stephen King's The Stand.

What about Tom Stechschulte’s performance did you like?

He brought each character to life with his intonation and accents.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Horror and Hope

    Any additional comments?

This story is great , but its not for the squeemish because it does go into the detail of sickeness, pain and gore.

This book builds on a simple premise: good teaching cannot be reduced to technique but is rooted in the identity and integrity of the teacher. Good teaching takes myriad forms but good teachers share one trait: they are authentically present in the classroom, in community with their students and their subject. They possess "a capacity for connectedness" and are able to weave a complex web of connections between themselves, their subjects, and their students, helping their students weave a world for themselves.

What made the experience of listening to The Courage to Teach the most enjoyable?

It was enjoyable to listen to a persons personal journey or exploration in what it means to teach. It was great to see that the author was able to define teaching for herself and find personal satisfaction.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The information was fine the way it was presented. Perhaps give ideas on how one can make teaching meaningful to themselves.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    not applicable

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Finding your purpose

    Any additional comments?

Good listen for everyone and especially educators at all levels of education, both new and veteran.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Where does 14 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a good story. It starts a bit slow but as the story unfolds the pace and suspense increase. I would rank it 8/10

What other book might you compare 14 to and why?

I cant think of another book to compare it to. The story is unique however the theme of the story is a kind of an "end of the world" or "lets save the world" depending on how you feel.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are many good scenes. Lot of suspense and mystery.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What you see isn't what you get

    Any additional comments?

The story is definitely not what you might expect based on the cover art and the title. I think the book has potential for a sequel where they explain a bit more about the development of the "machine" and the worlds beyond our reality.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Willpower Instinct to be better than the print version?

not sure because I have not read the book

What other book might you compare The Willpower Instinct to and why?

basic self help books that are thought provoking

Have you listened to any of Walter Dixon???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    no

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was made to consider ideas or issues within my own behaviour that I had never considered and to look at my choices in a new light....sometimes choices you make are really a trigger for a person to behave in a certain manner at another time (breaking your discipline) kind of like a cascade of events....that was started by what you thought was an innocent decision (subconsciously....its not)
