The two-time Emmy Award-winning actress has written her first book, a surprisingly raw and triumphant memoir that is outrageous, moving, sweet, tragic, and heartbreakingly honest. Guts is a true triumph - a memoir that manages to be as frank and revealing as Augusten Burroughs, yet as hilarious and witty as David Sedaris.

John Campbell says: "Whiskey and cigarettes have never sounded so good."

What made the experience of listening to Guts the most enjoyable?

Kristen's conversational reading of the book was outstanding. I felt as if she were telling me the story, personally, over several cups of coffee.

What did you like best about this story?

This story is the most honest accounts of addiction and its effects. Even before finishing the book, I recommended it to all of my friends.

Which character – as performed by Kristen Johnston – was your favorite?

I enjoyed all characterizations. The various english accents were especially amusing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I finished it in 2 sittings.

    Any additional comments?

Kudos to Kristen for this raw, honest story. Thank you for not keeping silent.

It's Monday. Time to hit the pause button on your personality and get ready for the next meeting because, for the next five days, we'll be speaking the language of business. And, from bloated jargon and monotonous memos to syrupy slogans and deadly dull presentations, the official language of business is bull. The second we get to work, we join the masses who trade the wit and warmth of their voices for a corporate stamp of approval and the comfort of conformity.

Chuck says: "Good premise; should have been a short story"
"Must read if you have a job"
    Overall

This book cuts right to the heart of the problem. We use jargon and bull-speak to sound more intelligent or to hide our errors. The author's tell it truthfully and give great examples of bad business speak. They distill all the garbage down to, "Be yourself and speak as you normally do."
