Bill O'Reilly is the very embodiment of the idea of a Culture Warrior, and in this book he lives up to the title brilliantly, with all the brashness and forthrightness at his command. He sees that America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a "secular-progressive" country.

I agree with Bill's assessment of our culture and the bias of the media and Hollywood. The books accurately depicts the opposing cultures. It is written with passion and a patriotic heart.

What would have made The Marriage Bargain better?

level of complexity of charactors, writing style more suitable for a 14 year old reader
Petty fighting and juvinile dialog lead to stupid story line.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jennifer Probst again?

If it were free. I would never waste my money or credits otherwise.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The writting was so immature, the narrator could not help but be banal.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    The plot was romantic

    Any additional comments?

The charactor development was simular to an imaginative 14 year old. The book read like a series of short passages linked together in a disjointed fashion. The prevailing glue was the endless hackneyed dailogue of passion.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I am struggling to finish the book. The narrator is terrible, missing words. The lead heroine sounds more like a sex kitten than a strong commander. Hispanic accents sound more like a Gabor sister imitator. There are word gaffes continuously.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Honor the commander.

How could the performance have been better?

The portrayal of the characters is abysmal. The book is narrated like a cheap romance novel.

Did On Basilisk Station inspire you to do anything?

    No

Would you listen to Gone with the Wind again? Why?

yes. I read the book when I was young. Listening gave the language great beauty. I befriended the characters and will miss them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

At each stage of life they take on new and different meanings

Which character – as performed by Linda Stephens – was your favorite?

Absolutely marvelous. I had no favorites.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was too long, impossible to complete in one sitting.

    Any additional comments?

The best book I have ever listened to.
