This was a very good overview of the relationship between the Booth family members, not just the 2 brothers mentioned in the title. I knew very little about the family's history prior to listening to this title and find their stories fascinating. I had no idea exactly how famous the family was for things outside of the assassination of the President and enjoyed the tales of the family's successes and failures, as well as their dysfunctional interactions between all of its members.

I have to admit that I bought this read for a little comic relief and was pleasantly surprised! I never knew the entire history of this butt of jokes and found its story to be interesting and tragic. It was well written and touched upon just enough of the history to keep my interest peaked. I wonder how far the Yugo could have come if not for all the mismanagement and corruption.

This book is a definite must! As someone who is in the "cancer business" I was fascinated and intrigued by this book. It was very interesting and explained clearly how tricky this insidious disease can be, and why we will probably never really conquer it. The writing was insightful and enjoyable and the stories were heartwarming. This was balanced quite evenly with the stories of the failures and frustrations of the author as he confronted his nemesis. This was all told in an interesting and easy to follow manner. I am recommending it as a top five for the year!

This book started out very good but lost a little steam around the middle of the story and never quite picked it up for the end. I felt that it dragged on a little too long, almost as if the author was trying to make it a longer story than was necessary. I did enjoy the relationship between the 2 aunts of the main character, as well as the mother of her love interest. All in all, a good story but a disappointing ending.

I enjoyed this tome but felt that there could have been more background on the "scandals" promised in the title. The reader was enjoyable to listen to and the history behind the formation of the periodic table was rather fascinating. I would have liked to hear a bit more dirt, however. Worth a listen, for sure
