I would recommend this book, the fact that all the bad guys from the real world turned fictional got wasted was great. All though I was disappointed with Louis's end, to have gone through all the horror with such strength even though his illness was so severe and then to not be able to be with Ash and the doctor was sad, but to have gone to his mother was good and very tearful. This was a strange book, but I liked it.
This book talks and talks and talks and all about the same thing over and over again. It is so slow, it never get's anywhere, they are trying to catch a wizard kid that did bad and yet no action going on to do it. Everyone one gets hurt and takes forever to meand omg what a waste of my time.
OMG, this was such a good book. I was screaming at Brian to hurry up and do all this saving he needed to do. I couldn't stop listening, Phil Giganti you are the bomb, I love listening to your narrations. I knew that kid was going to get stabbed in the back by snake. Hope there is a book 2.
The story is great, but killing off all of the good guys and their family wasn't cool. I know the bad guy will get his just like the inn keepers husband, and Vadeer, but to kill Griffin, I would have like to see him get his brother later in the next book. To get rid of the good characters in the first book makes the second book that's coming not as worth waiting for. So I hope the second book is just as good but maybe isn't so drawn out as this one was.
I have listened to these books for hours, and they have kept my interest every second, the characters were great and the bad guys get killed. But the ending was the worst, I kept waiting for Thasha to show up and instead Pazel ends up in the sea with the fish chick!! What the hell!! His friends don't remember him, only the rat!! Wow I can't believe how disappointed I am. The narration was great, Michael Page is terrific, I buy almost everything he narrates.
Not much different from Acheron the hours of beatings, sexual abuse and constant whining of no body loves me just had to be overlooked because the narration alone was worth it. I have been a fan of Kenyon for many years and am a loyal reader of the dark hunters. She can really write a book full of hate and betrayal.
Steven Pacey I could listen to you read for the rest of my life. The story was great, the narrating was even more so, Mr. Pacey made these books such a success. I have just started listening to epic scyfy books and everyone I have chosen has been great. So much more depth to these types of books and this one is top of my list. I hope to read and or listen to more from Joe.
This was a good story, I loved the ending. I like it when humans can show the strength and compasion to animals and each other in such adversity.
I had bought the Mirror in Her Dreams so many years ago I can't remember, and it sat in my book case and I never read it. Once the books came out in audible I listen to them and kicked myself for not reading it way back when. I am a big fan of Stephen R. Donaldson and am very glad that I listened to this story. Very imaginative, like my review in the first book I would have like to see the two main characters have more fight in them. But in the end they kicked butt.
I really wish they would hurry up and put Thomas Covenant first two adventures in Audible, I don't want to listen to the last three books until I can listen to them.
The story is good, I'm still interested in finishing the first book and then the second, but the constanct changing of the narrator for the same character makes the listening not so fun. If it had been read by Stefan Rudnicki throughout the entire books I would have been much happier, or Scott Brick but not both and definately not the others. All in all I will finish them because I actually like the story.
I have listened to every one of these in the series and loved everyone but this one. Since I am not a homosexual I'm sure that could be why. The black dagger brotherhood is about a league of superhuman vampires that kick demon butt, and find love along the way, no problem with that, but this book was nothing but two men having sex most of the time, or brooding about not being able to have sex with each other. I was glad when it was over, I hope that more books will come out so that I can listen to or read how the King kicks Scores butt and gets his kingdom on the right path. Plus we now have a new Vamp in the mix and he is falling for a human.
J.R. I'm not going to give up on this series, but I do hope you don't write another one like this one.
