The first book in an original mystery series featuring 28-year-old Veronica Mars, back in action after the events of Veronica Mars: The Movie. With the help of old friends - Logan Echolls, Mac Mackenzie, Wallace Fennel, and even Dick Casablancas - Veronica is ready to take on Neptune's darkest cases with her trademark sass and smarts.

Where does Veronica Mars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Veronica Mars rates at the top of the "pleasure" books I have read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Veronica Mars?

I love that Kristen Bell narrated, and it synced up nice with the original show as she narrated that as well.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    the opening.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not cry at this point, but the dialogue between the characters is well written and smart, similar to the show

    Any additional comments?

I do not think you have to be a die hard fan to love this story, but it certainly helps to have seen the show and the subsequent movie. You should watch those anyway, because they rock.

What did you like best about The Perks of Being a Wallflower? What did you like least?

I liked the narrator.. he sound\ed like you would like the character would sound like.

What was most disappointing about Stephen Chbosky’s story?

It was boring. It took me forever to get thru it.. I lagged for a month in between listenings. I just lost the will to care when nothing ever seemed to happen. I am sure there is a point, but it wasnt interesting enough to make me want to care.
I havent seen the movie, not sure there could even be one, theres no point to this story

Have you listened to any of Noah Galvin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

Was The Perks of Being a Wallflower worth the listening time?

Not at all. Waste of time.

Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Discovery of Witches to be better than the print version?

Unknown. I did not read the print version.

What other book might you compare A Discovery of Witches to and why?

    Its Twilight for smart people.

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Ikeda’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

never heard her performance before. I enjoyed her performance on A Discovery of Witches immensely.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not laugh or cry.

    Any additional comments?

This was a good story, but way too long. I listen to about an audio book a week, this one took me a month. The story drug on for a really long time. I liked the characters, and the plot line had merit, but I found myself not caring about it after awhile. The ending was a bit dissatisfying as well, but there was a "sequel" so I assume there is a continuation...

I will not be rushing to read the second one... I just don't have the desire to commit to another long, long story.

Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened - something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable.

What made the experience of listening to Guilty Wives the most enjoyable?

I love James Patterson, he can do no wrong. I loved the characters, I loved the intrigue, the mystery. I loved that he wrote it from the fed up women perspective. The women are all successful, seriously flawed women.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Guilty Wives?

Oh, there is no way to answer this with out a huge spoiler. I will only say that there is a moment where the main character discovers some inner strength.

Would you listen to another book narrated by January LaVoy?

    Yes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was very intrigued by this book. I did want to continuously listen. I do not recall any laughing or crying.

It's the start of Hollywood on Hudson, and New York City is swept up in the glamour. Every night, the red carpet rolls out for movie stars arriving at premieres in limos; the most exclusive restaurants close for private parties for wealthy producers and preeminent directors; and thousands of fans gather with the paparazzi, hoping to catch a glimpse of the most famous and beautiful faces in the world. With this many celebrities in town, special task force NYPD Red is on high alert - and they can't afford to make a single mistake.

What made the experience of listening to NYPD Red the most enjoyable?

I love James Patterson, so clearly this is a bias review. James was one of the first authors that really sparked my love of reading post college. This story had it all, sex, crime, bitterness, revenge. I sometimes feel guilty reading fiction books, thinking I should be using my precious spare time for bettering myself with business books or self help, but I don't feel bad about loving books like this (audio helps too since I can be doing other things while "reading". James Patterson will never write a classic novel, but his books are damn entertaining and this is no exception.

What did you like best about this story?

Like so many of his novels, the thing I like most about James Patterson is the character intertwining with each other. All characters have a back story and somehow it all makes sense. Of course, the intriguing mystery of crime novels is well represented.

What does Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I dislike when audio narrators use exaggerated voices. I thought the voices on this book were in sync with character. Although, admittedly, the new york accent was a little mundane.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Moved me... no. But, the lead detective working with his ex who he still had a flame for was something I could identify with...

Eva never really wanted to be a mother - and certainly not the mother of a boy who ends up murdering seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his 16th birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin’s horrific rampage, in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklin.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I just did not believe this story. I realize the concept of a school shooting and the motives behind such deplorable behavior are suppose to be unfathomable, but I just could not get behind it. I listened to the whole nearly 16 hours and found the story interesting and horrific, but somewhat shock for shock value. I do not want to give away too much less I spoil the obvious ending for other. I was clearly listening to a story that was suppose to be about real issues, and real people (many actual events are quoted amongst the occurrences in this book in order to verify it as factual) but from the beginning I was more than aware that I was reading fiction designed to ignite a gut reaction from me.

Would you recommend We Need to Talk About Kevin to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend this to my Jodi Piccoult reading friends. It is about that level of emotional fiction. (I love her, no judgement).

Which character – as performed by Coleen Marlo – was your favorite?

I hated all the characters in this book, but it was designed to invoke such vial disdain. I especially hated the father for his dismissive behavior and his mother for her reckless optimisms and futile retrospect.

Could you see We Need to Talk About Kevin being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I hear it is a movie. I guess I would see it if I need a good cry.

Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”

Would you listen to Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) again? Why?

I really enjoyed the first part. I am an avid Office fan and love Mindy's comedy. I also just came off a fantastic voyage thru the Tina Fey novel and was hoping to revisit the glory with Mindy Kaling. Funny enough, Mindy jokes about this comparison in the intro. I laughed a few times with the book, and actually made my teenage daughter listen to a few sections because I thought they were relevant to her, But by the end, I lost some interest. It really is short by audio book comparisons, but I felt like the beginning and early middle were fluid and towards the end it was a little more random.

Would you recommend Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) to your friends? Why or why not?

I recommend this book. But don't listen to it because you think she is going to go on and on about the office, she doesn't really. She has lots of other interesting stuff to talk about.

What about Mindy Kaling and Michael Schur ’s performance did you like?

I liked that Mindy is sweet and unassuming, but also very intelligent and driven. Thats the kind of person I want to be,

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Mindy has a line about people who are really popular in HS dont do anything else, HS is their peak. This stuck with me.. its SO true,
