The author shows he is an very angry leftist and anti-Catholic in this easy to forget novel. I was misled by all of the five star ratings who must be the author's friends or other angry people. I found it sad that the author used derogatory terms such as idiot. retard. an moron to describe mentally challenged people. He rewrites history by blaming the entire Viet Nam War on conservatives while overlooking liberals who also took part in this tragic war. The author is a very angry person who shows his hatred for the USA, Roman Catholics, and anyone who may not agree with his far left political beliefs. My mistake for being taken in by this dull audio time waster.

To be honest I have not read a western novel for many years. I wanted to try a new author and Stephen Smart did not let me down. The story flows nicely and is well read by Rusty Nelson. The author does a nice job painting mental pictures with words that makes you feel like going back in time. I found the book refreshing after reading so many that have honestly let me down in the past. I felt like I had gone back in time when as a kid I watched shows about cowboys and was shown the difference between good and evil. I hope Stephen Smart has another western for us soon.

It was so refreshing to finally find an author that is not a far left liberal. Thank you Brad-keep up the good work. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This was an enjoyable read. The first few chapters were so beautifully put together with words that my only complaint was that it did not flow through the entire book.

Not a huge SK fan but this one was interesting. I especially enjoyed hearing from the author at the end.

I had hoped to try a new author on the ratings of others only to be sadly disappointed. I would rather have a root canal than listen to another book by this author and reader.

Stephen King was better before his accident. Too bad as this could have been much better. Nice plot, but Stephen-please keep politics out of your novels because it gets old fast.
