"A very intriguing concept, mesmerizing !"
Science-fiction, romance, historical
Reliving the injustices before civil rights were enforced.
The Lindyhop? I never heard of it, but I can picture it by the vivid descriptions!
Yes, & I never wanted it to end!
Very different from the author's usual novels, I feel.
"A timeless romance"
Most people have had some exposure to this classic, having at least heard of the author. They may be hesitant about reading an old story. I am pleased to say that by reading this engrossing romantic mystery, the reader will discover why this classic remains in print and an excellent choice of an entertaining book.
Rebecca , because you become her, feeling her thoughts, living in her time.
Eloquent reader of beautiful language, which my mind would have been stumbling over at the expense of the story not flowing smoothly.
A woman of great moral character caught in trying to balance love, with the trials brought her way from people in her life whom are not always what they appear to be.
"Unique and compelling storyline"
This book ranks in the top ten of the many books I've read.
The book is a story surrounding the main character. He takes us through the realm of a life unable to be imagined, and suddenly all too vividly real! Therefore he is my favorite , though he is not always likeable.
Audible readings improve all books for me. The book is read with emphasis and expression as the author intended, not as I "blindly" stumble through!
Yes, This book has strongly affected me because it forced me to see how behaviors which are considered to be unpleasant, but not necessarily awful, can lead to evil actions which an individual would not have believed himself capable of.
The book is from times gone by, but that does not distract from the story. We are given a look at how similar criminals are to everyone else. We are given a first hand view of the consequences of the actions of one person 's split second crossover in behavior which causes him to become a "criminal" .
"A little known threat to our national security"
This is not what I would consider an "enjoyable book." It was written as the type of book thar grips you , and carries you through an all too frightening story. You are personally involved because you are told right from the beginning (by a current highly respected individual in Washington, ) of the very real possibility that this type of catastrophic event is currently being studied, and planned to perfection by organized enemies of our country. Therefore , the story is packed with dreadful possibilities which would be expected to happen in such a situation. Once the calamities begin to occur , the story naturally spires into the very frightening situation which feels highly probable in causing an unbearable way for the death of our society to unfold.
I can only compare the story to the TV show called "Jericho" . I usually do not read this type of book, due to the frightening experiences , that I tend to relive. However I cannot ignore a book such as this one when it begins by being validated by a well respected official from our government.
No
Could our country endure an event which would change everything in the world as we now experience it?
Riveting and unforgettable....
