In Good to Great, renowned author Jim Collins examines the fundamentals behind the few companies that make the leap to greatness, and the many that fail to do so. Built upon five years of research, Collins and his team identified 11 companies who had achieved greatness - defined as outperforming the stock market by a factor of three for 15 years - and discovered that they all exhibited a series of common factors. These factors, ranging from the presence of leaders who exhibit personal humility to a company-wide understanding of core business goals, form the basis for Good to Great.

What did you love best about Summary: Good to Great...in 30 Minutes - A Concise Summary of Jim Collins' Best-Selling Book?

I took a lot of concepts away from listening to this book. I haven't read G2G, so it's impossible to tell how effective this is as a summary, but it's an easy and repeatable listen.

What about Kevin Pierce’s performance did you like?

Kevin was pretty dry as a narrator, but his voice suited the material.

In keeping with the parable style, Patrick Lencioni begins by telling the fable of a woman who, as CEO of a struggling Silicon Valley firm, took control of a dysfunctional executive committee and helped its members succeed as a team. Story time over, Lencioni offers explicit instructions for overcoming the human behavioral tendencies that he says corrupt teams. Succinct yet sympathetic, this guide will be a boon for those struggling with the inherent difficulties of leading a group.
