I loved listening to this audiobook. Hard to believe that a book of this interest and quality could have been written at the beginning of a writer's career.

Julia Hamill has made a horrifying discovery on the grounds of her new home in rural Massachusetts: a skull buried in the rocky soil human, female, and, according to the trained eye of Boston medical examiner Maura Isles, scarred with the unmistakable marks of murder.

I was captivated by this book. I found it hard to stop listening. I was so into it that I was dreaming the story. This has only happened with one other book ever. There are few books that have so engaged me.

Heroine Zoe Hayes, a divorced art therapist with a six-year-old adopted daughter, returns with another gripping tale set in Philadelphia, this time taking place on the famous Boathouse Row. On summer vacation from her job, Zoe takes a sculling class with her best friend, Susan. One evening, while her daughter waits with Susan's children at the boathouse on the banks of the Schuylkill River, the two mothers row off to practice for an upcoming regatta.

I really enjoyed this book on tape. This is the first time I've reviewed a book. It was extremely interesting & I couldn't stop listening. The pace was fast & the end unexpected. When I looked for more titles by this author I was disappointed to see there was only one more. I was hoping that there would be at least ten more. I will be watching for more books from this talented author. It's been a long time since I've listened to a book that I couldn't stop listening to.
