Enjoyed the book and well-read. Fascinating and deeper look into neurological and developmental abnormalities and how/what they came to be in case studies.

If you are truly seeking to understand God's plan beyond the, "It is good for you" and "Because" explanation, then don't read this book. It starts out with trying to give examples through the Bible of suffering and possible explanations of why, then just says the same thing over and over. As a reader, the author tries to inflect his passion of the subject into the matter, but comes off as paternalistic. It is almost the argument that because he sees the answer so perfectly, it must be obvious to everyone else as well; and if you truly have faith, understanding that your answer to the question of "why am I (or ____) going through this?" may not be received until your death, you should be satisfied. I wasn't.

This book of the series was very disappointing. Most of this book is very contrived and predictable, getting out of the basic storyline of love, sex, and enchantment to trying and make it an adventure novel. The end of the book just seemed to be that the author was required to submit "X" number of pages and had to fill in, so wrote pieces of Christian's inner dialogue.

This book takes off where book 1 ended and while some of the plot may be predictable, is still enjoyable.

Those who enjoy history as well as human story-telling should enjoy this. The author jumps between the plague and the near-future remarkably well and shows that there are hardships no matter what time period in which you live.

My husband also listened to this and it has spiced up our intimate life (without copying stuff in the book.) Believable characters and inner dialogue of Anna is spot on.

Sometimes this gets to be a little monotonous, but there are plenty of examples to describe how the two systems of thinking occurs and how they work - both as independent brains as well as interdependent brains.

Get ready for some romance, Romance, ROMANCE. Remember the episode from Friends where Rachel and Monica teach Chandler the steps to enahance his lovemaking with his girlfriend? Where Monica uses a diagram and finishes with 7, 7, 777? Yep--that good.

While the writing allows the reader to visualize the scenes the author writes, the overall story is boring and really has no satisfactory ending.

The reading is intonation is on point. There were parts of this book that sort of made me cringe as a Christian, but kept me listening so that I could understand how the transcribing of what is considered the original texts aren't that at all. What we have now as our Bible is the best that could be written with the limited material that was available and missing the original documents (first writing) for many of the books. It is easier to see why there are so many different interpretations and how this came to be.

I want to listen again and take notes and talk with my pastor. Overall it helped to reaffirm my beliefs in Jesus as my savior and explain some of the discrepancies in the Bible that I had been struggling with. Highly recommend if you seek to further your knowledge of the history of the Bible along with your spirituality.

Excellent! Excellent!! Walter Dixon does a wonderful job of reading the material and putting life to the page with the examples of exercise and its benefit for memory, learning, ADHD, mood, etc that John Ratey provides. There was so much there, that I am going to purchase a hardcopy to review and keep for reference. Also great resource for those who are seeking additional support to decreasing use of pharmaceuticals.
