The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

I became a little disappointed with the earlier books however, lately for me, Kim Harrison and Marguerite Gavin have redeemed my liking for this series. I love the characters and the human quality of Rachel. She's emotional and speaks at the wrong time. I find this quality realistic, funny and frustrating. The relationship between her and Trent Kalamack is interesting.

I recommend this book highly. It will definitely keep your attention and you'll get an opportunity to read about or listen to the happenings going on with Rache's friends.

Thoroughly enjoyed this audio. I believe if you're a fan of Kim Harrison, this is definitely worth the credit. If you're new to this series, start with book one.

When a terror from the past threatens Gin’s friend and body-disposer, Sophia, Gin will stop at nothing to protect her, even if it means walking straight into a killer’s trap. Meanwhile, the rocky romance between Gin and Owen reaches a turning point - can they reunite and rekindle their love? Or will the things Gin has been forced to do in her line of work as the deadly assassin the Spider keep them apart forever? Assuming, that is, she survives long enough to find out....

I absolutely enjoy these books. There is one character in the story that the narrator really makes sound hilarious. And that character is the old man, Warren. I absolutely like this series although Gin has a habit of blaming herself for everything. That characteristic gets a little tiresome at times. However, really liked this book.

I used to murder people for money, but lately it’s become more of a survival technique. Once an assassin, always an assassin. So much for being plain old Gin Blanco. With every lowlife in Ashland gunning for me, I don’t need another problem, but a new one has come to town anyway. Salina might seem like a sweet Southern belle, but she’s really a dangerous enemy whose water elemental magic can go head-to-head with my own Ice and Stone power.

She keeps you interested. Gins boyfriend excuse me, her lover, as she refers to him, is a real jerk in this one. It was very frustrating listening to this and the affect his EX had on him and Gin s relationship but totally human and believable. Good story and I guess that's what made it frustrating. As usual, the narration is amazing and some of the best I've heard.

In this line of work, you either get lucky or you get dead. And since I destroyed my nemesis, Mab Monroe, a few weeks ago, all of Ashland’s lowlifes are gunning to make a name for themselves by taking out the lethal Spider—me, Gin Blanco."

This is a "make you chuckle" read. I didn't give it a five because some sections were slow. However the characters are fun and interesting even though somewhat cliche. I hope to see the writing evolve with each book. I enjoyed the story and am definitely going to download the next book.

Using her innate sixth sense, Blue uncovers a powerful magical artifact nearby. She soon discovers it acts as a key to an ancient Grimoire that was instrumental in the creation of the Vampire breed and still holds the power to unravel the boundaries between Earth and the Plane of Fire.

You know that your mind influences your health-but what's influencing your mind? Unless you answer this question, teaches Dr. Mario Martinez, you may be missing a key component on the journey to health and personal excellence. On The Mind-Body Code, the founder of Biocognitive Theory presents his first audio curriculum about the dynamic interplay between our thoughts, our bodies and our cultural history-and how to unlock this powerful doorway to wellness and fulfillment.

This book is not only informative, it is enlightening. We are so trapped by our cultural believes that we fall asleep, forgetting that we have a choice to be happy, healthier and free from societal dictations. This is not a spiritual journey but a scientific one from a man who has studied other cultures and what makes people healthy and/or sick.

I give this book my top rating. It was enjoyable to again, enjoy an audio book from beginning to end.

Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

It's not that the narrators were bad, it's just that the choices of whoever directed this audio book I beliee, made not so good production decisions. Imagine the voice of a young, early twenties character in the book sounding like an older, seasoned actor over fifty. It doesn't mean the narrator has to be old but at least they can sound younger. Also think of a book narrated in first person by each actor playing their role, male and female. Then when the narration turns to the woman's point of view, that same woman narrates the male character, you know the one in his early twenties who sounds over fifty, in a lower octive voice. If this sounds confusing, so was the narration and performance.

A note to the author, please make sure you listen to who narrates your book. It truly makes a difference. Because of the confusing narration in two, make that three voices, I couldn't finish what was probably a good book. Maybe, I"ll read it, maybe.
