As long as Dick Hill narrates Stephen White's books, I'll only listen (instead of read). This one was another excellent book and there were twists and turns throughout. I am counting on there being another book, and I'll buy it the minute it comes out.
Worth listening to - but just don't start here. Go back to the beginning of the Alan Gregory series and lead up to this one. Imagine! You'll have 19 books to read while I have to wait for the next one....
I have been telling people about this book ever since I started listening - and have told everyone to LISTEN rather than read it. This narrator was brilliant and brought Dan Smith's amazing story up to another level. I didn't want to miss a sentence in this book and if I thought I had, I went back. Tragic and yet hopeful. Painful and yet inspiring. One of the best books EVER from Audible.
Since Devil in the White City is what I'm measuring his books against, that is a TOUGH act to follow. However, I learned a great deal from this book and enjoyed it and am looking tonight for another one of Erik Larson's books. I'm convinced that I like him and the way he creates a story!
Completely different from Brothers & Bones, his first book I'd read (listened to) and this one was fabulous also! Different narrators added to it rather than distracting from the story as can happen in some audio books. I have already purchased the third book that I know of that Hankins has written and will be listening soon!
This was a great book and on so many levels, I loved it. I listened to the whole thing within 2 1/2 days - while driving, doing work around the house, or standing around waiting for something to get started.
I loved all the main characters (and was rooting for all of them in their various endeavors) and the depictions of them by the narrator. She was outstanding and helped this good book be even better.
Have listened to this over the last 3 days and loved it! Never a dull moment and definitely held my interest throughout. A few of the reviews had made me a little worried that it wouldn't be a good book but it was! Peter Giles is perfect as the narrator. Excellent and just what I want from Audible.
Thank goodness! This Agent Pendergast book is getting closer to being back on track (compared especially to the last one!) A few parts veered off and were less-than-compelling, but overall, I am glad I listened to this one!
Really, this was a 4.5 overall - but I couldn't rate it as that so I gave it a 5. And I would read book 1-13 in this series (listen to it) but couldn't find them. It seems that this is Book 14 of Scottoline's books but I couldn't see that they are all Rosato and Associates books, but maybe that's my poor searching skills. Excellent book. Great characters, Super narration. Complete winner. Want more.
Excellent. I haven't looked yet to see if this author has other books, but if he does, I'm buying them! I've already recommended this to other friends who are readers/listeners. And John Rubinstein is incredible. He did an outstanding job with this book.
Wow. I'm a huge Nelson DeMille fan and this was a dud. I made it over 1/2 through the book but just couldn't continue anymore. I thought about trying the double-time option but figured I was not interested and would move on to one of the other jillions of books I've bought from Audible. Scott Brick did a fine job but as another reviewer said, even he couldn't save this.
Slow, meaningless, nothing like what we all expect from Nelson DeMille as he's been writing these last many years. This one should have stayed in a drawer, I'm sorry to say.
Lee Child is not losing any momentum with his Jack Reacher books. This one was fabulous and I look forward to the next one. And the only voice I'll ever hear for Jack is Dick Hill's. I hope he keeps narrating these books.
