Officer Noelle DeRicci is investigating a murder in Armstrong, the domed colony on the Moon. The victim was one of the Disappeared - outlaws in hiding who are wanted for crimes against alien civilizations - whose family had her brought home, believing she was no longer in danger.

MrBoobo says: "Maybe the best of the series"
    "So interesting and fast paced."
    Overall

This series is so interesting. Everything makes sense even though it is science fiction. The descriptive writing helps you to imagine what everything looks like and how things work. I drove 268 miles last night and never got bored.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

What made the experience of listening to The Martian the most enjoyable?

The narration is excellent, making the delivery of sarcasm hilarious. The science side of the story is fascinating to me. I got the feel of what it's like to be an astronaut,; bulky space suit, crappy food, loneliness. I also love the way he has to 'think outside the box' to solve problems. Also, like our hero, I never leave home without my Duct Tape!

What other book might you compare The Martian to and why?

I can only think of books by James Mitchner because I always learned so much about cultures and other lands and eras while enjoying a good read.

What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    His delivery is awesome!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Holy Crap!

    Any additional comments?

Science and laughs and space travel...does it get any better?

His name: Miles Flint. His occupation: Retrieval Artist. His job: find the Disappeared - outlaws on the run, wanted for crimes against alien cultures. The catch: Flint isn't working on the side of the law anymore.

This was my third novel by this author. What good writing. Everything is so interesting. The reader is excellent, too. This is science fiction that makes sense.

Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.

    "Compelling audio..."
    Overall

This was a very moving, inciteful audio book. I got lost in the goodness and beauty of the writing. The descriptive visuals were excellent. I felt like I could see what the author was trying to portray.
I drive 200 miles a night and hated when I had to shut off my car.
I hope there is a sequel.
    Good job, Mr. Young!
