This is the first Sandra Brown book I've read and I'm ready to read them ALL at this point. I was so taken in by the characters and rivited by the story. I couldn't wait to get in my car every morning and every afternoon to continue hearing more of it. This is one of those stories I could read again and still be captivated by the story. I loved it.

LOL. I am truely just drawn into these books. She has a third book out, and after the ending of this book, I'm dying to read it, but Audible doesn't have it. I'm going to have to go out and (*gasp*) spend money buying it at Amazon. I love the mix of humor, mystery, romance, and the supernatural in this book. Actually, I just finished listening to books one and two a second time.

I was very into the characters. I found myself really worried about them at times and parts of the book were hard to listen to because I didn't like what happened to some of the characters. I know it's fiction but that is how well the characters were written. lol

This book ended way too soon for me. This was my first Darynda Jones book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've already determined to get the second one but while on my way home I had extra time to fill so I started this book over again. Loved it! :)

I couldn't finish the book because I couldn't get past the narrator. My mind kept wandering thinking about how annoying the narration was, so I would miss parts of the story and not know what was going on. I finally decided to quit torturing myself and just get a new book. Sorry. I heard the story was excellent, might have to actually read this on my own to experience that.

It wasn't the worst book I ever read (aka: listened to) but I couldn't bring myself to give it more than 2 stars. I think part of it for me was the narrator. She spoke TOO slowly and TOO carefully during the narration portions of the story. It was incredibly annoying. I generally don't mind when people do accents in narration, either, but the one used in this story was a bit much, too.

Yes, I'm one of "those" who have been hooked on Twilight and a friend of mine told me I should read the Sookie Stackhouse series. I just finished listening to this book, the first in the series, and I like it. It's different from what I've been listening to, so I guess that's why I have some hesitation, but overall I thought it was a great book. I usually can guess what's coming next or "who dunnit" but this one caught me by surprise. I also REALLY liked the narrators voices for each of the characters. I really liked the way she did Bill's voice and the cadence of his speech. I already downloaded book 2. I'm looking forward to listening to it. :)

I've read several of the reviews here before I listened to this book and I had them in the back of my head the whole time. I disagree with some of the more critical reviews. I think this narrator has read some of Kathy Reich's books before. Her voice sounded familiar. I didn't mind listening to her at all. Some people said she was monotone, I didn't think so. She read some parts with a southern accent, which some reviewers didn't like, but I've heard many narrators do that. Again, I had no problem with it. Kathy Reichs typically gives in depth explainations about subjects in her books. Some reviewers had a problem with that, as well. I think it's just something you get from a Kathy Reich's book. I'm the kind of person who likes to know much more about things, so I don't mind the explainations. Overall I thought this was a good book. I think she's written others that I liked more, but I still enjoyed this one and was surprised by the ending. I would recommend this to other fans of Kathy Reichs.

I just love Jim Dale's voice. He brings this story to life. My only critism is that his "Frenchman" sounds a little German. Still, it was a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

For the first couple of chapters the narrator's accent bugged me, but I got used to it. It was very slight, but it was noticable in the beginning. Otherwise the book was great. Another "page turner" from Kathy Reichs.
