"Terrible narration - couldn't finish"
I'm not sure who would enjoy it. The narrator did such a terrible job with the accents that I could only listen to about 10 minutes of it before I turned it off.
My review is based solely on the audio version of this book. I don't know if the story is disappointing or not. I could not get past the first chapter. In that time the story seemed interesting. I have read other books in this series by Kerrelyn Sparks and really liked them. I have not listened to those audio books however.
The accents, especially the French, were cartoonish and over played. It is difficult to connect with the romantic hero of a book when he sounds like Pepe Le Pew. The book would be better with a narrator who could do subtle accents.
I cannot judge the story in this book because I was unable to listen to much of it.
This audio book was a waste of my joining credit. Don't waste your money or credits on this.
"Great narrator"
Yes. The story was very good and the narrator was great.
The narrator did a fantastic job with Denny's Australian accent. I am not usually a fan of people doing accents. They often sound fake and cartoonish. The narrator's accent was very subtle and believable.
