Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Would you listen to Outlander again? Why?

Absolutely, because I would love to hear all of the details again now that I know the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jamie, because he was passionate yet practical.

Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?

All the "Scottish" noises... She portrayed Dougal so well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I couldn't stop thinking about the story, but mostly I loved the character of the story and the complete immersion in the culture. The love story is quite engaging.

Written with the wisdom and grace devoted readers have come to expect from the award-winning author of The Virgin of Small Plains, here is a brilliantly moving tale of family, murder, and redemptive love.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Not a bad story, but the first 2/3 was really slow. I enjoyed the ending very much. The first 2/3 were predictable. The rest was good.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where she is taken back to the farm by the villain and he makes her start setting the farm on fire.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No
