Yes. Although I will not be able to read the printed version. I love to listen to Dan Rather. He is an amazing story teller.
I liked all of it, and will re-listen to it.
No scenes, just great stories. An eye opener of inside journalism and our media, and how things are not always as we hear or see them. Our US network media does a lot of cut and paste.
It was perfect. I will re-listen to this book again.
It's perfect! Thank you Mr. Rather.
A great read!
Claire Fraser. What a tough lady!
The ending left me wanting to see when the HBO series will be available. Equal to Game of Thrones, as far as story line and content.
Going to re-listen to the series while I wait for the ending.... No... The next series will be about Brianna, and Jem.
I loved The Outlander series and was hoping this series would offer a similar story line. I am disappointed.
The final book in The Outlander series? Waiting patiently.
Very good voice.
Sorry, no. I did listen to it all the way to the end, but just couldn't get into it. I'm no quitter, and even though I wasn't completely interested I did finish the book.
I don't think I would recommend to anyone interested in this series. At least not this book.
They should put the reader in the area of 40 thousand years ago. The language that the clans used was that of a college professor. Their conversations with each other were completely unbelievable. The people of the raven or any other tribe/clan would not be using this advanced vocabulary during this time period. I would have liked to know how they grew their food, hunted, and gathered, made and used tools, and lived day to day. I understand they needed the drama of "conflict" and "sex" but.... Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I would have liked to hear of some geographic similarities. We have many beautiful scenes here, I'm pretty sure Mt Rainier, Mt. St. Helen's, and the others in the Cascades and Olympic areas were here. Having just returned from Kennewick, I think they could have described the area better. What were the people were seeing, and put the reader there. To the east are the plains, and high desert of Washington and Oregon, to the south the Columbia River, to the west the Central Cascade mountain range that stretches from Canada to California. The weather is extreme in the high desert. Summers are very hot and can be in the 90's and 100's for days. Winters are harsh, snow is common and measured in feet. Very cold, and weeks of temperatures in the 20's or lower. Overall...... Disappointing.
I liked his performance. It's too bad that he had to read a novel that read like a college thesis. These people did not speak to each other with type of vocabulary. The people in 2012 don't converse with this vocabulary, I'm pretty sure the people of 40 thousand years ago had a more simple vocabulary.
They have follow up books, although not all of them are in audio versions that are downloadable most are still on CD's.
I have removed the remainder of the " People " series from my wish list.
How in the world did he survive this? I can't even imagine how one would get through this experiences.
Absolutely... I can hardly wait to get the movie. I missed seeing it in the theaters
I liked all of it, I remember a great deal of the 60's. Although grew up in the pacific northwest, I have trouble believing the circumstances in the southern states. The arrogance.
I have read / listened to the book twice. It's a good reread.
I stopped listening in the first hour. I never finished the book.
I have listened to it twice. It's a great story.
The writer describes the area, it makes you feel like you are there.
No. I prefer to listen to books that contain more than 15 hours. I seek out the longer books.
Yes, I prefer audio.
She can make the voices I hear in my head. She brings the story alive.
