I couldn't put it down. Well balanced, no punches left out and the story of a unique person of our time. A must read, even if you don't care for Steve Jobs.
None so far.
Asshole genius makes critics respect what he did.
Biased presentation of factual things really insulted my intelligence.
Not Peter Schiff material.
It was acceptable
Disappointed that I did not get information that was promised in the promo.
Very disappointed to waste my money on this.
I didn't realize how biased a "History of the US" could be until I listened to this book. I will delete from my library. Very sad that people write such trash.
Tell things in a balanced and unbiased manner.
He did a good job in the reading. No complaint.
Basically disappointed because I actually thought I had purchased a history book not a sermon that never tells both sides of a story. He only sticks to his warped believe that capitalism is bad and communism is great. Facts of the world refute this but it does not bother him.
Tell people that buy this that it is an old communist man justifying his life's belief. America is a terrible place to live.
The descriptions of events was like a well painted picture. This is an old story which many people either never knew about or did not find it interesting. Laura has made it interesting.
The treatment and description of the 45 days on a raft were made realistic.
I liked the reader and found the voice and pronunciation to my liking.
Descriptions of the prison camp made me have a deeper respect for men captured and able to survive Japanese treatment. It is sad that the Japanese choose not to recognize the cruelty of their miltary in the period before August 1945.
All men in Japanese hands would have been killed if the Allies had tried to invade Japan. One more justification of Hiroshima as a life saver for Japanese and allied soldiers.
This seems to have been written for a movie rather than good reading. Too stretched out when
not necessary. Could have been a good story in half the time.
The reader makes this an excellent book. His ability to sound like Churchill, change his voice for ladies, sing a song, etc. are entertaining. The story is interesting and well presented. Very even balanced on a very controversial person.
This is a classic and I can see why. It has the details and well designed chapters that allow one to focus on the subjects. Sometimes moving ahead as required and then returning to the time frame to keep it in clear order.
Famous book and I can understand why. Well written and balanced based on what was known at the time this was written. Good listening if you like details.
Well balanced account of FDR as a person. Good listening material and gave me a new insight into a person I did not really like.
Not professional in terms of writing style but excellent in getting a glimpse of the person writing... simple - straight forward - matter of fact. This must have been the style of a humble yet successful general.
