I couldn't put it down. Well balanced, no punches left out and the story of a unique person of our time. A must read, even if you don't care for Steve Jobs.
None so far.
Asshole genius makes critics respect what he did.
Yes, good blend of story about William Howard Taft whom I knew nothing before along with a solid description of Teddy Roosevelt.
Unknown story of the friendship and cooperation between Taft and Roosevelt.
He just made it an easy listen. Very professionally done.
Yes, it was not boring in any phase.
This should be made into a movie and would fare better than Lincoln.
Never read a book about Victoria.
I think the author did a fair and balanced job of presenting the life and character of Queen Victoria and Albert. I never knew anything about them previously. It seems she could be a very dull subject but the author made it a good read.
Very well done with his voice and acents.
Victoria - Life and Times not so conservative as you might think.
Fair and balanced story of a historically significant person.
The doctor teaching this course is an excellent presenter. He makes this course so interesting and easy to follow. I will re-listen again to gain a better understanding of his techniques. Even you are just a patient, you would benefit from listening to this course.
Most of the 25 odd cases were interesting. No particular favorite.
His voice and rhythm are perfect for this course and maybe any book he would read. He makes you feel like you are in the emergency department or clinic with him as he discusses the case.
I was enjoying the mystery in each diagnosis and he presents many possibilities for one. Then narrows it down by good understanding of the patient, test methods and above all listening to the patients story.
This is a good course for anyone since at one time or another we are all going to doctors for the diagnosis of our sickness.
I have not seen the print version so it is not possible to compare. The audio edition is well done.
None in particular.
Yes, but I space it out to increase my enjoyment.
I never realized how significant the canal was and the number of people killed is unbelievable.
The author seems to have a desire to make himself appear an expert on all that is wrong in writings by others. Very repetitive themes that have little to do with Florida history. I wanted to learn something about the state and now what was wrong with written histories. Very negative writing on all subjects mentioned. Easier to do this I think rather than to do real history and make it interesting.
This person seems like a preacher rather than a historian. I couldn't stand anymore and stopped half way throught his ravings one subjects. How could anyone rate this more than a minus 3 stars.\?
Researched and presented a history of Florida as the title says.
Not sure. His reading and the authors poor work leave me cold.
There was little to salvage from this whole thing.
A true historian can make this an interesting story but it would only be about 2 or 3 hours long.
Biased presentation of factual things really insulted my intelligence.
Not Peter Schiff material.
It was acceptable
Disappointed that I did not get information that was promised in the promo.
Very disappointed to waste my money on this.
I didn't realize how biased a "History of the US" could be until I listened to this book. I will delete from my library. Very sad that people write such trash.
Tell things in a balanced and unbiased manner.
He did a good job in the reading. No complaint.
Basically disappointed because I actually thought I had purchased a history book not a sermon that never tells both sides of a story. He only sticks to his warped believe that capitalism is bad and communism is great. Facts of the world refute this but it does not bother him.
Tell people that buy this that it is an old communist man justifying his life's belief. America is a terrible place to live.
The descriptions of events was like a well painted picture. This is an old story which many people either never knew about or did not find it interesting. Laura has made it interesting.
The treatment and description of the 45 days on a raft were made realistic.
I liked the reader and found the voice and pronunciation to my liking.
Descriptions of the prison camp made me have a deeper respect for men captured and able to survive Japanese treatment. It is sad that the Japanese choose not to recognize the cruelty of their miltary in the period before August 1945.
All men in Japanese hands would have been killed if the Allies had tried to invade Japan. One more justification of Hiroshima as a life saver for Japanese and allied soldiers.
This seems to have been written for a movie rather than good reading. Too stretched out when
not necessary. Could have been a good story in half the time.
