Dani "Mega" O’Malley plays by her own set of rules - and in a world overrun by Dark Fae, her biggest rule is: Do what it takes to survive. Possessing rare talents and the all-powerful Sword of Light, Dani is more than equipped for the task. In fact, she’s one of the few humans who can defend themselves against the Unseelie. But now, amid the pandemonium, her greatest gifts have turned into serious liabilities.

Would you consider the audio edition of Iced to be better than the print version?

No. The readers did not surpass my ability to imagine the characters.

What did you like best about this story?

I was already invested in the fever series so learning more about Dani Christian and Ryodan was a treat. Also IMO there was just enough recap from previous books to not drag the story out.

Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

Dani, the male voices were a bit flat.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Dani's early childhood was especially disturbing to me as a mother.

Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

Where does Hard Magic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's definitely in the top ten along with Spellbound and Warbound.

What other book might you compare Hard Magic to and why?

Hard magic has the feel of Xmen in that globally society feels threatened by magical people. Otherwise I've not yet read anything quite like this book or series.

Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but his performance is so good it makes me want to look for other books he's read.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions. It was a book of action. That's not to say that the author didn't connect you with the characters.
