This book was spectacular. I enjoy hard SF, especially stories that begin in contemporary times, and this book did not let me down. Sawyer does a great job at mixing murder mystery with the skiffy (sci-fi) foundation.

As the story begins, Leeds and his 'aspects' are drawn into the search for the missing Balubal Razon, inventor of a camera whose astonishing properties could alter our understanding of human history and change the very structure of society.

Mr. Sanderson, turn this into a full novel and I will definitely buy it. The novella was excellent, but far too short.

Despite the fact the novel is about an AI developing on the web, it is a very human story. Kate's journey was (will continue to be I hope) fascinating, and her character was endearing. I loved it.
