"Did not want it to end"
Best book I have listened to in years. Narrator was awesome and fit the book perfectly. Should be required listening or reading for all students in school. To be able to write a story like this is a true gift and makes you appreciate what incredible author Hemmingway was.
"The how to book for Entrepreneurs"
An amazing book, with great stories of individuals that bet it all and then some to make their ideas come to life. The ups and downs, frustrations and celebrations. If you own your own business you will enjoy this, if you have wanted to start your own business this is a must read. Narration is wonderful, the story is never slows down. You don't want it to end. Please write a sequel. Its not what you know, its how much drive and determination you may have.
"Great escape"
Brad Thor keeps getting better. A story that grabs you and then pulls you in. Enjoyed the beginning, middle and the end. Kept you on the edge of your seat the whole book.
"A life time of preperation"
Captain Sullenberger prepared his whole flying career, as a teenager in Texas, to the Airforce Academy, and as a Commercial Airline Pilot for US Airways for the landing on the Hudson. Scully give us an insite into his life as an aviator, who's everyday life is very much like any of ours with the same daily challenges. How he handle a potential disaster of Flight 1547 and how his life was changed for not only him, but his family and crew was a very interesting and pleasant read. Ordinary people doing extronary things.
"One more chance"
Ever wish you had one more chance to do it over or turn back the clock from a previous experience. Jeffrey Marx gets the ultimate chance. From classroom to Super Bowl. Enjoyable story with the happiest of endings. Gives some interesting insight into life as a role player in the NFL.
A story you can just sit back and enjoy.
"Heart Warming"
A good story about football, a great story that shows what can happen when a child is given a chance to succeed by those who care. I laughed until I had tears and at the same time my heart ached for Michael Ohr a young man who just needed a chance at life. Michael Lewis incorporates the world of pro-football with one of the best human interst stories you will ever listen to. Stephen Hoye is outstanding as the narrator. Have listened to this one twice.
"A tasteful history of In & Out Burger"
Not knowing much about the company, other than being a fan of the food. I found this to be interesting history of a fast food company that has stayed with their core values while continuing to grow. The family history was interesting and sad. Found the story to be a little repetative at times or almost an In & Out commercial. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.
"A must if you own or want to start a business"
Norm Bordsky has written a must read (listen) book on owning and running a business. Being financially independent is the dream of many, but too many times we aren't objective when making decessions on expanding, selling, buying a business. His skills of analyzing employee compensation along with avoiding the common mistakes we are subject to make this book one of the best business books I have read. Sean Pratt the narrator is outstanding.
"Living a dream."
Stefan Fatsis provides a look into every football fans fantasy, life in the NFL. Life in an NFL training camp as a kicker Stefan Fatsis gives us an insight not as an NFL player, but that of a fan living a dream. The book evolves around the pressures of kicking, but does an excellent job of how fragile NFL careers are and the ups and downs of players living on the edge. I enjoyed this book very much.
"I wonder what it would be like"
If you enjoy football this is a great book. All of us at one time or another would like to know what it would be like to kick the game winning field goal. Stefan Fatsis does an outstanding showing the business and real side of pro football, at the same time competing as a kicker. He gives you the view from the inside of training camp, not just observing it as a writer, he got to live and experience pressure a player feels. I will listen to this book again.
"Sneaks up on you"
I had heard this book reviewed on the radio as being one of The Books of the summer. The first third of the book takes place in low end mens club and the life of single mom who is working there. Just when your wondering where this is all going, the different characters are pulled together, making the 2nd half of this book worth listening to. A very good book, of peoples lives, problems and the days leading up to and including 9/11.
