Here is another essay put in book form. The authors fail to take other things into concideration. There is more to the human brain besides what happens physically inside the brain. There are mental and emotional parts as well. The authors glanced over these parts. In order to do a task repetitiously a person subconscious come into play and bypasses the conscious. Example a professional driver. Magicians are able to fool the conscious but not the subconscious. The authors seem to do research on magic and then write a theory around their findings. The authors took too long to get to the point. This book Slights of Mind is a lot of hocus pocus. Would not recommend.
If you are a Brad Thor fan please start with this book. This book helps set up the character to understand why he does what he does. Lots of action. It also gives a little history lesson.
If you saw the movie the godfather I recommend reading the book. The book has a lot of thing in it that relate to what most of us go through in life jelousy among family members, a sense of entitlement and betrayal. And shows when we are young we think we know things without seeing the bigger picture. Great read.
I liked the book because it dealt with racism and how people of color were and in some cases still treated in the south. How one half brothers have to come together to help the other to keep him out of prison. Great listen.
This book started off ok. But the characters in the book seem to be at war with themselves. The theme of it seem to have a 1984 theme. If you read this book, read 1984 as well. They both have similar themes.
I loved the book because even though it takes place during the depression it relates to today. She uses the skill she has to survive. Even when things are going wrong. This book is about life doesn't matter what era it is.
I enjoyed the book. It's a different spin when women are involved. The science behind the whole thing is frightening. Lots of actions.
Couldn't stop listening. Got a great history lesson out of the book. Some parts were a little drawn out but still great.
This book shows how the mafia controlled things in the past to the present. Great read.
Shows how corporate take overs can be a disaster. Greed can take over all rational being.
This book gave me a lot to think about. It give a look into monopolies and how they are formed. How the government can play a role into breaking them up or let them continue business as usual.
