the author went too dark on the murder mystery.

I REALLY enjoyed the first book and I expected the same formula, but she went too dark by going deep into murder culture, explicit details, art exhibits that feature murder scenes, and talking about John Wayne Gacy and clown paintings. It went beyond the basic, ok someone was murdered, now let's find out who did it. I became increasingly anxious and deleted the book.

Yes because I am a great admirer of RA Salvatore's writing and the narrator was very talented.

Narration is key to any audiobook, PARAMOUNT even. A good narrator can make the worst of stories better and great stories exquisite. I would listen to the newspaper if David Suchet, Tom Baker, Norman Dietz, Tim Curry, or John McDonough read them.

I thought this was supposed to be considered an "inspirational" book. "Recorded Books Inspirational" "Dedicated to stories of faith and the human spirit." This is what the introduction to the book says. So how can you (the publisher - not Audible) classifiy it that way when a couple of times in the book, God's name is taken in vain - yet the author uses alternative slang for other curse words like heck and darn. Except for those curses, the story was ok. Not as good as the prequel.

The story was ok. A bit sad. It would be nice if the description of the story (any story) indicated the tone. I didn't agree with the description. It lead you to believe that even though the main character's husband died, she found a new life. There was not a happier ending. The sadness/sense of loss was from start to finish.

Absolutely. Tom Baker has an excellent voice and his delivery is perfect.

The Jan Karon Mitford series. It is about a Man of God, his church members, and the towns people living together. How God works everything out and the choices we make.

Yes, but life wouldn't allow such luxury. Besides it prolonged the ending. Like the Jan Karon books, I find that I miss the characters once I'm finished reading.
