"Great stories."
I have a long commute and I really enjoy Diana Gabaldon's books. They are long, but the stories are so detailed I get lost in them. Davina Porter is a superb narrator. One forgets it is just one person acting out all of the characters. Very enjoyable!
"Fabulous job by Kate Reading. Great story too."
So easy to listen to and get lost in the story.
The descriptions of the scenes and the strength of the character's emotions are wonderful.
Her ability to do so many haracters including at least accents from three languages is great!
The story brings in characters from Diana Gabaldon's books. Is there a connection?
"Disappointed by following other reviewers feedback"
The story was rather lame.
The story has era inconsistencies. It wasn't spread over the time in a realistic manner, for example, Rebecca's ability to come in and out of shock induced catatonic states with little effort or time. Also, she is able to go from Bible thumper to going along with strange men after the trauma of her family's death in a couple of days.
Spacing out the story realistically and making the dialog less juvenile.
Almost immediate disappointment in my purchase.
"A nice listen."
Story worth contemplation.
The descriptions of what Eben Alexander felt or experienced were very detailed and left me feeling like I understood what he 'saw'.
Hearing the author's voice telling the story helps bring it to life.
"Nice depth to the story."
No, but only because I don't like reading or listening to a book twice.
Liz. She was rather complex.
Nice narration and consistence in doing the character voices.
Definitely.
Nice diversion from the typical Nora Roberts. It had more depth to the story. The end wrapped up too fast.
"Not worth the read or the listen."
Not likely

NO
Most of them.
The story is juvenile, not true to the periods (clash of language and slang). The dialog is just plain stupid. The story drags on and on and really didn't make me want to rush to my car to listen every commute. The performance is weak. The narrator doesn't have a good command of male vs. female voices and Cole sounded like a light footed, limp wristed wimp.
"Not worth the credit or the money."
The story started too slowly and focused too much on the rape scene. It could have been done without a violating crime and really, who falls in love with their rapist?
Disgust, disappointment, boredom
"Don't bother."
The male narrator trying to do female voices was distracting it was so bad. The story is terrible and the use of 20th century english mixed in with 1600's english regardless of the speaker make the whole thing border on stupid. Really low quality for something from Audible. Very disappointed.
