This is not your average, dull, academic treatise on government! Spread This Wealth is an easy-to-understand, common sense explanation of what is happening to American liberty and how average citizens can defend it. The author is an ordinary citizen with an extraordinary perspective on the wisdom of the Founding Fathers and the passion of the millions of men and women who have fought to gain and maintain the freedom all Americans enjoy.

    Overall

Just in time for the Revolution of 2010-12, this book lays out the moral and philosophical case for Americans' freedoms. It simplifies some complex ideas and explains clearly why we need to replace the wasteful, out-of-touch representatives who have perpetuated big government and doomed future generations to debt slavery. Mr. Duke gives a simple, workable, five-step plan that will be implemented if we ever get serious about being free again! This book also gives the most compelling synopsis of the Fair Tax available today. The narrator does a superb job of presenting the subject matter, as in other books of similar topics. A great listen that every American should hear, or read in paperback.

  • Touch the Top of the World: A Blind Man's Journey to Climb Farther Than the Eye Can See

Erik Weihenmayer was the first blind man to summit McKinley. He also reached the top of Everest, scaled the 3,300-foot wall of El Capitan, and married his sweetheart on Kilimanjaro. This is his remarkable story, about daring to dream in the face of a seemingly insurmountable limitation. Jon Krakauer, author of Into Thin Air, calls Weihenmayer "an inspiration to other blind people and plenty of us folks who can see just fine."

I listened to this book three times because it is so rich with descriptions of the author's travels and his tenacity in overcoming a "handicap." He shows us all that our only handicap is our own limited thinking!

Is an intimate experience of the Divine meant only for saints and mystics? Ask Tessa Bielecki, a former Carmelite nun and abbess of a monastic community, and the answer is an emphatic no. "Mystical experience is as natural to us as breathing," she explains. "It erupts spontaneously and graciously when we live on the spot and savor the real." Wild at Heart presents her call to you, the ordinary seeker, to have a loving realization of God, which is your divine birthright.

Vincent Brown says: "A Perfect Fit"
    "Outstanding, simple, clear"
    Overall

This is one of the best books on spirituality, mysticism, and true Christianity that has been written in years! I highly recommend it as being well researched and well read. Destined to be a classic in spiritual literature!

Who is Jesus Christ? In The Third Jesus, best-selling author and spiritual leader Deepak Chopra provides an answer to this question that is both a challenge to current systems of belief and a fresh perspective on what Jesus can teach us all, regardless of our religious background. There is not one Jesus, Chopra explains, but three.

    "Disappointed"
    Overall

If you read New Age books in the 1980's you may find The Third Jesus sloggingly redundant.

  • The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus: What's So Good About the Good News?

"What did Jesus preach?" asks this esteemed Harvard pastor, who believes that excessive focus on the Bible and doctrines about Jesus have led the Christian church astray. To recover the transformative power of the gospel, "the good news", Gomes says we must go beyond the Bible and rediscover how to live out Jesus' original revolutionary message of hope.

Stuart says: "A Thoughtful and Important Book"
    "Nonsensical"
    Overall

This is a long political diatribe about how the author thinks Jesus would want people to act. He picks out a very few scriptures and interprets them to fit his beliefs. The "gospel" he refers to is social justice. Save your money and give it to the poor instead of buying this audiobook.

The publication of Power vs. Force by Sir David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., reveals to the general public secret information heretofore only shared by the author with certain Nobelists and world leaders. Analyzing the basic nature of human thought and consciousness itself, the author makes available to everyone the key to penetrating the last barrier to the advancement of civilization and science and resolving the most crucial of all human dilemmas.

Greg says: "Good book – poor narrator"
    "mumbo jumbo"
    Overall

This is mostly new age mumbo jumbo that poses as science. Very interesting and well presented, but not well supported by fact or logic. However, it will stir up the brain cells.
