Frank Machianno is a late-middle-aged ex-surf bum who runs a bait shack on the San Diego waterfront. An affable Italian with a love of people and life, he's a stand-up businessman, devoted father, and a beloved fixture in the community. He's also a hit man - specifically, a retired hit man. Back in the day when he was one of the most feared members of the West Coast Mafia, he was known as Frankie Machine.

Johnnie Walker says: "A new favorite author"
    "Fun listen"
    Overall

The plot is a little drawn out, but a fun book.

Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

    A. Tuck says: "Classic Stephenson"
    "Best pizza delivery scene ever"
    Overall

Snowcrash is worth while just for the first couple of chapters at the begining dealing with a pizza delivery. The rest of the book is very good, and interesting if a little implausible. Good reader, lots of fun and really interesting.
