‘There's no end to the horror in this place - it's like Hell, and there are devils round every corner.’ On Leisure Platform 9 gamblers and villains mix with socialites and celebrities. It’s a place where you won’t want to win the wrong game. With Rory kidnapped by a brutal crime lord, the Doctor and Amy infiltrate a deadly contest where fugitives become the hunted. But how long before they realise the Doctor isn’t a vicious mercenary and discover what Amy is up to?

Hold up though. This series has been going on for so long in other incarnations that I can't honestly say this was good enough.

Darvill portrayed the characters very well in this but the story is a middle of the road thing. Not really bad, but nothing I care about either.

If you have an extra credit and have nothing else your considering or saving for I'd say get this as it is a worthwhile adventure for the price, but there are plenty of better Doctor Who things you could spend that 17 dollars on otherwise, like a few episodes of the show instead.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

I personally think they should have just waited for James Marsters to have a open slot to record. but if they had to bring in someone either just to take over this once or even replace Marsters for a more timely release they really chose no better place and the actor isn't really that bad.

Granted when it started I was really hesititant and even quit listening for a week. but since listening gets me done faster than reading I came back to this and after the first few chapters, IE about halfway through part one of the download, this actor works well enough and in this different kind of book from the rest of the series it works- especally with the mystery of Harry questioning if he's really Dresden's ghost or just some spirit who thinks he is.

check this out if your a mid-range fan. A person who loves these audios enough not to wanna read the books without one, but also not so much a fan you hate anyone not Marsters

A big issue with audio books is that when you have a book that isn't in first person and only one reader it tends to not work on it's own without the book to read along. Actors like Swanson don't have much range in voicing so many of the characters sound like the same ones from the first book.

Outside of that the story is solid if only a little disappointing since my expectations were too high, and Swanson does well enough to make it worth the use of a credit, though I don't reccomend it to anyone who isn't a member getting at least a reduced price since this audio book isn't worth over 30 dollars.
