I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Short pieces of Tina Fey's life but gives us insight into her drive and character. All the while light and funny. Her comic writing abilities come through in the book. I loved it.
I had no idea the story would be told in the third person? narrative by a dog. I should have sent it back but kept thinking the detective would eventually take a larger part. Nope.
I've read most of the books on the mortgage swindles. This is the best, most interesting and names names. Barofsky is my new hero. He also is self deprecating, humorous and gives credit where due. The snakes in Washington do not compare to the drug runners in Columbia he prosecuted.
This book is about boys in a school coming of age but drugs, suicide, beatings, not my cup of tea. I read the whole thing and was very happy it was over. 3 parts?! "Probably won a Pulitzer", she said sarcastically.
I have read most of the Matt Scudder and the Hitman series but this is before Block learned how to write.
The book was mediocre at best. The plot was so unreal it was beyond belief. I have listened to narrator Anna Fields read other books and I like her. I did not like her on this book at all. Her attempt at the different voices was terrible and distracting. When a reader just reads the book I like it better. I can imagine the voices. Some readers are great at the different voices and accents, but if the reader is not, they should just read.
Trite, predictable, juvenile, generally a waste of a credit and my time.
really good read, new author for me. Lots of twists and turns. Keeps your interest throughout. I am searching for another book by him immediately.
Not up to her usual standards. Not crisp and witty, rather mundane. Very disappointing.
