"Such high hopes......"
Envy by Sandra Brown is one of my favorite books of all time!! So cleaver and descriptive! I fell in love with Parker Evans from the beginning and didn't figure anything out until it was revealed to me! Chill factor is a close 2nd favorite book. From there it has been downhill for me with Sandra Brown. She tries, but nothing has come close for me since Envy and Chill Factor. This story was unbelievable and I couldn't wait for it to be over! I did enjoy Victor Slezak however, because he is also the narrator for Envy, but not enough that I will ever listen to this again.
"Didn't know what to expect..."
I would have loved this book had I know it was Sci-Fi going into it. I really enjoyed the publishers summery and the reviews I read ahead of time so I was hopeful I would enjoy the book. I felt a little duped. My own fault ~ I maybe should have researched further before listening.
Love this narrator ~ he does a wonderful job!
None ~ it was a good book for Sci-Fi.
"Excellent!!"
Lisa Gardner is one of the best suspense writers ever! This book was exciting from beginning to end. She has remained constant with this series. Each is a good as the last! And they are fantastic!! Kirsten Potter is the perfect D.D. Warren, making everything about this audiobook 5 stars!
"Scarpetta is back!!"
Red Mist reminded me of the first books in the series and why I love these characters! The last 3 books have been a little too technical and procedural. Loved how the story unfolded. Just how I want Scarpetta to be!
Kate Burton is ok as the narrator, but Kate Reading is Scarpetta to me and NO one does Marino better!
"Better than the past few....."
I have really enjoyed this series. Explosive Eighteen is better that the last 4 books I would say. I still think Lorelei King is a terrible narrator for this series!! CJ Critt was the perfect voice for all these characters.
"Not the best Virgil ~ but it is still Virgil!"
I am bias! John Sandford is my favorite author and he hit it out of the park in May with his latest Lucas Davenport, Buried Prey. I will forgive him this Virgil Flowers. I still enjoyed every minute of this book, but it wasn't as good as the others in the series. He is such a talented writer and so detailed, it was still a great story!
"Fantastic!!"
Loved every second of this book!! Lucas Davenport is one of my all time favorite characters and Richard Ferrone narrates him perfectly!!
I truly loved how this book was written and loved getting to know some more about Lucas when he was younger. This series never disappoints! I will definitely be listening to this one again!!
"Entertaining Series"
I was so pleased to come across this series. It does remind me of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. If you enjoy it you should also check out the Sophie Katz series by Kyra Davis and the Body Movers series by Stephanie Bond. Many great hours of entertainment.
I do agree with other reviewers in their assessment of the narrator~ I have heard much better, but if you can get past her the book is really enjoyable. I look forward to listening to the entire series.
"Great Listen"
John Sandford is one of my favorite authors. He could write the user manual to my microwave and I would still be enthralled by him. Love the series and I have a huge crush on Lucas Davenport! Can't wait for more.
"Love Lisa Jackson, but not her best!"
I am a huge Lisa Jackson fan and am always entertained by her writing. This book was good, but I have liked some of her other novels better. Worth the time to listen, always.
