    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Young, idealistic, and overworked, Jonah is living the lonely life of a medical student in New York City when he accidentally stumbles across a murder in progress: a woman, being stabbed to death in the middle of the sidewalk. Without thinking, he rushes in to protect her, inadvertently killing her attacker in the process. Thrust into the media spotlight, crushed by guilt, Jonah quickly learns that heroism isn't all it's cracked up to be.

    "Too Long"

Needed editing. Keep repeating same behavior and I guess it was building suspense but for me it was getting tiring. First book I did not finish listening to. I have been hooked an audible books for over 5 years. Listen to about 3 a month. So for me not to finish is very unusual.

Felicity Fairchild says: "Don't Judge the Series by the First Book!"
    "SCI Fi or Mystery"

No where was it mentioned that this story takes place in some future time. I was so confused as to why they didn't recognize gun shots as the cause of death. DUH! Because guns have been outlawed for so long...I don't like sci fi so I will finish the book but I am not happy I used my monthy credit for this book. So fair warning to the next listner.

    "Dark Comedy at it's best!"

I loved this author's story. The narrator kicked it up even a higher notch. It was funny and entertaining. This is a book for pure reading pleasure. I even bought a copy for a friend to take on a long train ride. Knew it would make the miles fly by. It was a true "Dark Comedy". The sequal was fab too.

    "New Insight"

This book is the first book I have read that gives both sides of the "Midlle East" situation.
It cover the Isreal and Palestine view. It defends neither, but gives us a better understanding how deep the rift goes. I am very glad I read(listened) to this informative and entertaining book. It is a great story!

  • Innocent Traitor: A Novel of Lady Jane Grey

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Alison Weir
    • Narrated By Stina Nielsen, Davina Porter, Bianca Amato
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The child of a scheming father and ruthless mother, Lady Jane Grey is born during a time when ambition dictates action. Cousin to Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I, she is merely a pawn in a political and religious game in which one false step means a certain demise. But Lady Jane has remarkable qualities that help her to withstand the constant pressures of the royal machinery far better than most expect.

    "Good Read!"

I love the Tudor time period. This extended my knowledge of what happened after Henry VIII.
Well written, could have used some editing but all in all was a book you wanted to read and know the outcome.

  • The Tin Roof Blowdown: A Dave Robicheaux Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By James Lee Burke
    • Narrated By Will Patton
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Dave Robicheaux returns in another Bayou adventure, this one more gruesome and gut-wrenching than any that have come before. Hurricane Katrina has ravaged New Orleans, leaving the streets and buildings flooded and the city awash with opportunists, looters, and vicious criminals. There is no order, no law. Police are shooting randomly at innocent people, prison guards have abandoned their posts, and bodies float through the streets and hang from trees.

Deborah says: "How Does One Manage?"
    "Well done"

I love Dave. In this book you can feel his pain from Katrina and the lack of support from the outside world. The mystery is well done and keeps us in suspence until the end. I learned more about Katrina without the book begoming GRIM.
