I am not sure I am going to be able to finish this one. This narration is the worst I have ever heard. Normally I sample the book before buying and downloading but for some reason I did not with this.

I can't get a handle on the story for the poor narration.

Needless to say I wish I had not purchased this book.

Holly Cramer seems to be standard person who always makes the wrong decisions. Without being a spoiler I will say that this is much better than the last Terri Blackstock I read. This one evolved in a very good story, lots of action. Good prevails! I was very impressed with the narrative at the end of the book from the author - thank you for maintaining the Christian aspect. Looking forward to seeing more work like this.

Summer Abernathy wakes up one morning to find her husband missing, three men in her home intent on finding him, and the life she's been living based on a lie. Which Kyle Abernathy did she marry? The computer programmer she met in line at the bank? Or the one who was apparently using that image as a cover story? The search for her husband - and answers - takes Summer ever deeper into a world of organized crime, where people are used one moment and discarded the next.

Weak story line at times and then jumps into some wicked Mafia type torture. I actually opted out of finishing this because I have a real aversion to reptiles. Imagine your torture being captured in a room full of boa's.

Aside from that the male character who was in the WITSEC program and trying to convince the wife that he really does love her, it's a shame I couldn't find out the ending.

    Narration was so-so at best.

Charlotte owns a Birmingham bridal boutique. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress - or feel certain she should marry Tim? Then Charlotte purchases a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress.

This was my first by Rachel Hauck and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed narrator Eleni Pappageorge as well. The story was magical and I especially liked that it was set in different periods in time. I found myself getting lost in the story and envisioning the characters in the landscape of the stories. Each time my commute was over I was sad and looking forward to the next time to listen. It was so pleasing to hear no vulgar language and to have an author who let God be in the picture. I don't want to give any spoilers so it's difficult to divulge too much. If you like a nice peaceful read that will draw you into the story this is for you. It would make a great movie. Love....Love...Love!

I have read this as a softcover book however it has been some time so it was like new to me all over again. The narrator Tom Stechschulte is not my favorite but it was okay. He doesn't do female characters well. The heroine was a strong character. Her circumstances were complex and hard to imagine facing. Her love interest proved an equally strong character.
It is so refreshing to read fiction without vulgar language and strong convictions.

I am mostly always a big fan of David Baldacci and also both of the narrators Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy.

They always seem to do a great job. I had pondered why Robert Puller from a staunch military family ended up in jail. This book explains it all. It was very complex and at times I was not able to predict the outcomes. It was good to allow the main characters to show emotion as well.

I'd like to see more of the Puller characters in future books.

It was good to reconnect with some of the characters from her previous novel. One of my favorite characters is the main characters father Leo who is very dedicated, retired police officer who loves his daughter and grandson. Things took a turn that I did not expect as far "who done it" because there were many possible characters who were involved. I especially like Jan Maxwell as a narrator. This was a good entertaining book.

I will preface this review with mentioning the author is not my favorite, having made that statement I will say that this one took some getting use to and making myself read it and not abandon early on. If you don't know anything about elephants you will after listening to this book. The characters were complex and they spoke in first person which was fine until they spoke of other characters and the narration did not follow the characters. Minor detail though. If you are a mother you will definitely relate to certain situations. Overall the biggest surprise was the last few chapters. I did not anticipate the ending at all. Came from out of nowhere!

Even though I am not one to read every book by this author what kept me from giving the review 5 stars was the vulgar language that served no purpose to the story. The same could have been said and conveyed without it.

Take a chance and enjoy if you can tolerate the F bombs and other vulgar language.

I can't bring myself to finish this one - second recent John Grisham audiobook that I simply can't tolerate the narrator. The inflections in the voice are terrible and he is not versatile enough to change characters. The author has done some great works in the past - this one being an older thankfully their is a better narrator on board now.

I will be returning this one.

I am at chapter 7 and will be baling on this one. I simply can't finish it. The narration is the worst I have ever heard to the point that I have no desire to even read the book. I normally like the author and for all I know and will never find out this may be a decent book.

Based on the few chapters I endured the main character is using greed to punish his family upon his death. The lawyer with substance abuse problems sent to Brazil to find his illegitimate daughter is more of a loser than the deceased family.

I have listened to two of the authors recent books and that narrator was great.

    Save your money.....
