God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it! Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes get rid of the sermons.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Isn't this the same question as above? Take away the sermon style preaching at the end of each chapter.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narration was great, the content was excellent, I loved this book.
I am not religious at all and this book refers to alot of bible scriptures that are relevant but this is not the problem. The problem is that the author is obviously quite religious and spends quite a bit of time delivering a sermon style summary to each chapter. I had to skip these bits.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Great content in this book if you can handle the preaching you will love it.

Where does The Mood Cure rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    #1.
This book changed my life in only TWO DAYS! From then on it has just got better and better. I feel alive again. 5 long years of feeling lethargic, moody, out of control and constantly crying for no reason ! I could feel the real me inside but I felt like I just couldnt lift off what was ailing me? I was determined to find the cause and here it is, contained in this book.

If you are having problems with anxiety, anger, depression, stress or anything mood related don't just put it down to "oh thats just the way I am" or "its because of...." It could very well be just a chemical imbalance in your brain that can be fixed with supplements and some simple diet changes and Dr Ross helps you every step of the way. The supplements themselves are miraculous in restoring your moods making life happiness.

So get busy and READ THIS BOOK !

What did you like best about this story?

It is very reader friendly. She starts out with a quiz to help you find out what category you fit into, if not all of them !!!! Then provides detailed explanation on why you feel like you do and what you can do to improve your situation by suggesting supplements and simple dietary changes.

What does Coleen Marlo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Coleen read the book beautifully but it seemed her voice was a bit robotic, like it had been run through a voice synthisiser.

    Any additional comments?

I hope this book helps you the way it has helped me and thousands of other people. Thankyou Dr Ross.

What did you love best about Simple Strides Toward Positive Change?

The messages are strong yet simple. You are perfectly imperfect. You are worthy, you are beautiful just the way you are right now. I have heard or read all this before but no one has quite ever got this through to me as much as Susan. This little book has helped me improve my self esteem, confidence and to stop beating myself up mentally. Susan has helped me become alot more accepting of myself. Highly recommended for everyone and teens would especially benefit from reading this.

What other book might you compare Simple Strides Toward Positive Change to and why?

None - it surpasses them all

Which character – as performed by Susan Korwin – was your favorite?

    N/a

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many aha moments for me here. I felt like she was talking to me personally in a lot of areas.

Would you try another book from Liane Moriarty and/or Caroline Lee?

Yes as this was the second of her books I have tried and I just cant finish them.

What was most disappointing about Liane Moriarty’s story?

I think it is that I do not like her style of writing, she bores me.

How could the performance have been better?

The author spends too much time establishing the characters.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narration was good and Liane has a good following.

A 39-year-old with Asperger’s syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder, Edward Stanton lives alone on a rigid schedule in the Montana town where he grew up. His carefully constructed routine includes tracking his most common waking time (7:38 a.m.), refusing to start his therapy sessions even a minute before the appointed hour (10:00 a.m.), and watching one episode of the 1960s cop show Dragnet each night (10:00 p.m.). But when a single mother and her nine-year-old son move in across the street, Edward’s timetable comes undone....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I think so, although I am not convinced. It was a pleasant story but a little boring at the same time. Some chapters were quite drawn out.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I listened to "The Rosie Project" just prior this which made this book seem very bland indeed. It needed more funny moments and a decent ending.

    Which scene was your favorite?

SPOILER ALERT......When his dad died. Horrible man.

Do you think 600 Hours of Edward needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Unfortunately it did, as it was wrapped up so quickly. It seemed like the Author had just had enough of writing or it was a ploy to get you to buy the sequel to see what ended up happening to Edward.

Fasting is the most ancient therapy of humanity. Even our forefathers observed that, after some days of fasting, a recrudescence of vitality and vigor shows itself in the organism. Nature turns it to account for the purpose of accelerating the functions of elimination, while the marvelous economy of the organism profits by the rest afforded to the digestive functions and by the vital machine's slackened activity resulting from the fast to cast off the impurities of the organism by every channel.

What did you like best about The Essene Science of Fasting and the Art of Sobriety? What did you like least?

    Good information

Would you recommend The Essene Science of Fasting and the Art of Sobriety to your friends? Why or why not?

The religion. If we eat bad food we are succumbing to Satan. Little harsh don't you think? Gave me a chuckle though.

What three words best describe Tom Zingarelli’s voice?

    Good narration

Did The Essene Science of Fasting and the Art of Sobriety inspire you to do anything?

Not really, but the further information was great. I have already been inspired by Michael Mosely's 5:2 diet which is much more realistic view that fits in with 21st century life and he doesn't preach chocolate is attached to Satan.

I enjoyed this book and agree with other reviewers, it did start slow. This is a murder mystery story and if you like that Genre I would highly recommend it. Tara Ward did a fabulous job of narrating all the different characters and even using different accents quiet successfully. This made the book a pleasure to listen to. It is a long book about 13 hours but not too long for the story. I would have liked a few more "gasp" or "OMG" moments but I tend to find murder mysteries a little slow for my liking, hence the 3 star overall. A definite must for the murder mystery buffs out there though.
