Beautiful and self-confident businesswoman Rusty Carlson was hurt, terrified and alone with a man she feared. But one thing was certain – she would surely die without his help. Vietnam vet Cooper Landry had a deep-rooted grudge against beautiful women like Rusty. Experience had taught him they were takers. But he’d survived far worse dangers, and this time he’d be damned if he’d let her risk his chance for survival.

What would have made Two Alone better?

Different characters and a different male voice

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Not sure

Would you be willing to try another one of Joyce Bean’s performances?

Probably not. I did not enjoy her male voice or female voice for the main characters. I also didn't like the main characters so this might have some influence as well.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Two Alone?

    Not sure

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Where does Dark Places rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Best one I have listened to yet.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Libby was my favorite. She is dark, cynical, and almost unlikeable, yet you end up rooting for her.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I don't think that one particular scene was my favoritem but the best part is when the present narration meets the past narration.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Libby reconncted with her aunt in the end as well as when she read the note left from her mother.
