Interesting twists for a light read
How can you not like Psmith??? It is such a checkout from reality to spend time with him.
It wasn't a single moment, just a few hours of enjoyable fluff.
Half and half. It was one I wanted to go on longer. It isn't a page turner, like some mysteries, but a pleasant escape, like a picnic on a perfect Spring day.
I enjoyed the Game of Thrones, thought the second book was OK, but maybe was burnt out by this one. I found it predictable, and the characters I wanted to know about were basically gone. I didn't even finish it.
Probably, unless I go back and finish it in a few years
Narrator was fine
I liked the effort to present a feel of the significance and vastness ancient Chinese culture. It was an excellent foil to a straightforward "guns and badguys" book.
"The Girl" books sets the bar so high. I think it will be a while before I find a story as amazing.
It is likely I have read or listened to all of Burke's books. In my opinion this is not his finest moment, but still better than many other in the genre. It would not deter me from reading another.
I usually rip through Evanovich's stories, but this one did not keep me sitting in a parked car with the motor running. It was predictable, scattered and not funny.
An intense trip through the history of science with one of the few who could make it funny and enthralling. My new passion is slime mold. I will listen to the whole thing again!
