Very disappointing. This is my second Clive Cussler book. I first listened to the Chase, and I was hooked, engaged, and surprised throughout. Black Wind is formulaic- everything that happens is very predictable. I don't even mind that type of action at times, however, the worst part about this book were the characters. Every character had very similar personalities with the exact same sense of humor. I started playing a game of trying to guess the next joke that a character would attempt.

Although this book is geared towards teenagers it is still an entertaining and enjoyable read. Artemis Fowl the boy genius and thief is at it again. This time he is trying to be the best art thief somehow gets wrongfully accused for another scheme that reconnects him with the fairy people. Now they must try and save the fairy and human people. This is the 4th book in a 7 book series. I have been listening to them and have loved the narrators European accent.

The book definitely felt like it was inspired by The Hunger Games, it had a similar plot with a corrupt government training children to fight and some kids starting to rebel. It was very well written and the words paint such detailed pictures in my mind. It is also a page turner. Although, I am more of a "Jane Austen" kind of girl and don't usually like the violence, it was still enjoyable to read and I will finish the series.

Very fun story. I have seen various Alice in Wonderland movies, and none of them capture Lewis Carrolls whimsy, entertainment, and insight like the book. It is a fun often non-sensical adventure with a lot of clever insights such as Alice "often giving herself good advice, but very seldom following it." All the characters are interesting, but Carroll creates his most intriguing character in Alice. She is precocious but loveable and a very deep thinker- at least in her own mind.
