Susan Erickson narration takes you back as if you were growing up and going through Carly's, Carole and Joni's lives right with them. Wonderful.
I love Alan Cumming and his story touched my heart and hit many cords with me. I also learned a few coping skills that he used to deal with his past. I loved listening to him talk. This was/is an amazing story of someone who endured so much anger from his father. Now that I've listened to the Audio I'm going to buy the book and keep it on one of my coffee tables. I just can't put into words the impact of his life with his father and the gentle soul he is. Alan could've gone down the wrong path and not be who he is today. His love for his mother Mary Darling and brother Tom is in every word he writes. I feel this book was a love story to them as well. Do yourself a favor...listen to the Audio and be prepared to be surprised that this wonderful talent and man came out on the right side of the tracks.
Chris Mathews reads the forward and Holter Graham takes us on another wonderful piece of History with our beloved president. It's always amazes me with all the stories written there is something new you will learn...a must audio book!!!
