I was pleasantly surprised to see that a new partner for Sherlock was introduced and developed so well, a nice fit. It was a good story from the start and all the main characters from Sherlock's life are still in the sidelines which was good for nostalgia. It was a good caper with just the right amount of ups and downs and a few heartfelt moments thrown in for good measure. Great start to a series. I would recommend and it's a nice clean read.

A few nights before Christmas, Meg is awakened when Michael is summoned to the New Life Baptist Church, where someone has rigged a cage full of skunks in the choir loft. The lengthy process of de-skunking the church requires its annual pre-Christmas concert to relocate to Trinity Episcopal, despite the protests of Mr. Vess, an elderly vestryman.

A 3.5 for me because the ending kind of went flat. Quite a few cute parts and funny characters but I think if I knew them better it would have been a more enjoyable read. Comming in in the middle of a series can be tricky that way. A well rounded story about what starts out as harmless pranks turns into a murder investigation. A small town, family and church oriented Christmas story. Skunks and bunnies and snakes, Oh No! Believable characters and good narration kept it going for me.

In this heartwarming, suspenseful, and hilarious novel, Callahan Garrity and the outrageous band of "girls" in her Atlanta cleaning crew join together during the Christmas rush to prove that her trailer-trash brother didn't kill his even trashier estranged wife.

It's a few days before Christmas, and sometime sleuth/full-time cleaning lady Callahan Garrity has things under control for a change, until her never-do-well brother, Brian, shows up.

A light murder mystery surrounded by the custody of a child. Not really a Christmas book but it was happening around the Holiday Season. A Mother-in-Law takes on the responsibility of protecting her granddaughter from her Mother who has less that any moral compass when it comes to the welfare of her child. When the Mother is found murdered everyone involved in the sweet child's life becomes a suspect.

Callahan Garity, her aunt, is a retired PD officer and private detective so understandably she is on the case to clear her family and protect her niece. Corruption and unsolved murders start cropping up while she is conducting her investigation. A pretty good mystery with real characters. Hillary Huber's good narration added to the story and took it from a 3 to a 4 for me.

A very cute novella about a family that has a lot of work to do to get back to what used to be a loving, supportive connection. A bah humbug elf is assigned to help but does not have any hope of making it happen. A great Christmas lesson of how shedding all of our gadgets, that we think we can't live without, and getting back to basics. Sometimes the Christmas spirit can be found in the strangest places. This would make a cute Hallmark movie and is a good family car listen.

Abby Cooper is a P.I., psychic intuitive. But her insight failed her when she didn't foresee the death of one of her clients - or that the lead investigator for the case is the gorgeous blind date she just met. Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever.

A fun mystery that had a good story and believable characters. Abby is a no nonsense girl who has a gift that she yields with conscience and integrity. She tends to shy away from any interaction with police cases because of doubt and implication, however, on a blind date she is mistakenly sucked into a conversation about a current missing child case. A week after the date she finds out that her mystery man is a police detective and the game is on when one of her clients ends up dead.

This was a cute cozy that kept my interest and I was happy to get back to. The narration went perfect with her character and I will look for more in this series for a feel good fix.

A good court drama that has several different threads that are part of the same line of corruption that leads deep into the cartel and police dept. After the death of a young escort her handler contacts her attorney to defend him against false charges brought against him in the case of her death.

I always enjoy Michael Connelly's writing, this is my first in the Mickey Haller series and I can understand why people like it so much. Great characters, fast pace and excellent narration will bring me back for more in this series.

Mike is a tattoo artist running his own shop, and Deb is the piercing artist he hires to round out his studio’s motley crew of four. The last either expects is romance, but that’s what they get as they follow their off-kilter careers and love lives into complete and total disaster. When Mike follows a growing trend and tattoos the ashes of deceased loved ones into several customers’ tattoos, he has no idea that it will one day provide the solution - and solace - he will sorely need.

A young girl wakes up in a hospital with no memory of what happened to her and as the story unfolds she begins to think she is crazy. But with a new job and her hunger for drugs gone, she starts to realize that whatever this crazy is, may not be too bad. A fun read of her evolution as a White Trash Zombie.

A quick who done it that was pretty good and also a freebie from Audible. The age old story of a group of trapped people forced to play a game for their individual survival. Some of the killings were pretty abrupt and others were done with a little flair. Good narration that added to the book.
