I purchased this for my husband because he has always been interested in history. He had just finished the book by the same author, Robert Caro, about Lyndon B Johnson....not someone he cared for. He found this very interesting also and thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Definitely would recommend this book.

Purchased this for my husband at his request. Being a baseball fan for a long time he was really interested in having this book. He was not disappointed and would recommend it for anyone interested in the wheelings and dealings of baseball.

My husband wanted me to get this for him. We had seen the movie and loved it. He had read other books by Oliver Sacks and enjoyed each one. This did not disappoint....loved every minute of it and the narration was terrific as well. To inject the personalties of the patients aided in understanding the different problems that each one had before going to "sleep" and after they awakened was very interesting, sometimes sad, sometimes funny - just wonderful. The patients themselves were often humorous and knowing the difficulties they faced enlightened the situation. My husband, being a Parkinson's patient, could relate to some of the difficulties of the disease.
THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO OTHERS!

My husband asked me to download this book for him. He had never watched Dylan Ratigan's show on TV but heard him on another program and the book was discussed. My husband is very interested in the inner workings of the government, from when it was formed to present, so this was a good choice. He enjoyed the book tremendously, both the story and narration.

This book written by Laura Hillenbrand was a story of a truly amazing man. Edward Hermann is an excellent reader and the combination of the two has made this an excellent read! I would recommend this book to everyone even though the parts describing being a prisoner of war of the Japanese is difficult to imagine.
