Stephen Hawking's worldwide best seller, A Brief History of Time, has been a landmark volume in scientific writing. Its author's engaging voice is one reason, and the compelling subjects he addresses is another: the nature of space and time, the role of God in creation, the history and future of the universe.

Top notch narration with a pleasant voice, and an awesome book! I never took a physics course and I stink at math; but the concepts were dumbed down just enough for me to get a basic grasp of the concepts, and I still have to listen to it again. Fortunately, I look forward to listening to it several more times.

This thought-provoking journal of a man's quest for truth - and for himself - has touched and changed an entire generation, and is ready to reach out to a new one. At its heart, the story is all too simple: a man and his son take a motorcycle trip across America. But this is not a simple trip at all, for around every corner, their pilgrimage leads them to new vistas of self-discovery and renewal.

    "Decent book, annoying narration"
    Overall

I read this book years ago with some friends and we all really liked it. It's a really cool book, but unless you like a Charlton Heston/Cap't Kirk/Troy McClure type reading of it, you'll really be let down. The narrator's intonation and emphasis just seems wrong, condescending and not true to the author's vision.

  • Lolita

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 32 mins)

Why we think it’s a great listen: Among the great literary achievements of the 20th century, Lolita soars in audio thanks to the incomparable Jeremy Irons, bringing to life Nabokov’s ability to shock and enthrall more than 50 years after publication. Lolita became a cause celebre because of the erotic predilections of its protagonist. But Nabokov's masterpiece owes its stature not to the controversy its material aroused but to its author's use of that material to tell a love story that is shocking in its beauty and tenderness.

This is an amazing work of art on both the writer and narrator's part. This is a 5-star audiobook and I think you should download and listen to it as soon as possible. An educatable mind will not be disappointed.
